So is there any sort of consensus as to a good disp to buy seeds from in CO? I haven't been to many ever so don't know if its common or not for them to sell seeds now, seems like a lot of people may still go the internet route? Only place I've really heard of is centennial seeds, and they seem to have a ton of hermie problems....

Try Sunnyside Alternative Medicine, they usually have some killer
beans available.

Looks like they mostly carry Centennial, which I'm hesitant to try based on all the neg. things I've heard. Where do the "Colorado Native" seeds they list come from - i think they said White Rhino and White Chocolate?

Just another northern Colorado (first-time) grower checking in here.... damn, y'alls have got a lot of pages in this one single thread! I just want to say mad props to the growers and dispensaries who are still running out here. It's a constantly changing scene and from my observation, the quality of things keeps getting better. I'm proud to be in a state with citizens who are intelligent enough to recognize a need to legalize the plant. I hate regulations and bureaucracy but I have faith that everything goes through a rough transition before a balance is found. How does everyone else feel about developments in the scene lately and have they affected it for better or for worse?

Won't ever find me in a dispensary again.

Internet beans have their risks, but if your legit you shouldn't have to worry about the feds,.... so then it's just on the seed bank!

Source your beans from reputable sources and you'll be fine,..... Attitude did me well last time I ordered, tho the 1 strain (Island Sweet Skunk) I feel the breeder provided poor quality mold infested beans. (40% germ rate, 0% of the success survived! :frown: )

Cost me 2 of the "Freebie" beans that Attitude hooked me up with to boot. (mold spreads quick)

clicked on the Rare Dank seed link
I love some of the names of stains

"Fort Collins Cough" caught my eye
I see Chiba Hut has a sandwich named Fort Collins Sour Diesel now

Not looking to buy any seeds but I enjoy looking at the strain names.
Got a clean set up and want to keep it that way, paranoid about importing problems

I did have a cricket in my room last week
but I took him out with a flip flop
Scared the sleeping husky about three feet off the floor when I did

stay cool Colorado growers, another hot week

there are two now
we hit the new(er) one on Taft Hill road and Elizabeth

I have mailed a few of their menus back east to my buddies
so they can get a chuckle out of a weed themed sub shop

Here's a shot of the Cinnamon Black Bear that is hanging around
up the mountain from Mishawaka Amphitheater this summer
We saw him when we were up there for Hot Tuna last weekend

I see a 1000 watt HPS set up for $239 at WTG
I have one of my 400 watt balasts in there for repair
if it's more than $50 I think I'll upgrade to the 1000w
Eliminate two 400w and replace with 1000w
Then next month grab a second one and replace my 600w
and be running 2k instead on my current 1400w

I'm hoping a 600w increase in electric
won't throw up any red flags at the power company
No more than adding a washer and drier or another a/c unit would
(I do our laundry at a laundromat to keep the electric usage low)

Next time ya germ, use 1 part 3% H2O2 and 2 parts water together, this makes a 1% solution. I use this solution for the initial soak, prevents stuff like that from happening... A good homie showed me this, and it works! :tiphat:

bought a smart pot when I went to see about my ballast (it's toast)

anything I should know before I use a smart pot for the first time?

Not really, but they do dry out faster...

I put mine on a drip tray filled with lava rock to catch runoff just in case I overwater them a bit.

They dry out pretty quick!

I just leave mine in tray's,... the plants wick over water runoff back up really quickly, and unlike plastic containers you don't have the issue of Root Rotting due to no circulation in a flooded tray. :pimp3:

Beta said less transplant shock? How are you transplanting? Just planting the smart pot in a new one? I've tried up potting out of one, it wasn't very pretty.

Just me here and it suits my style of grow well,.... Rooted clone goes into 1 gallon plastic pot for 3-4 weeks of vege, then up pot to 5 gallon smart pot 3-4 more weeks of vege before switching to flower in SCROG.

The roots expand quickly in vege, not so much in flower, so it works out that it's still pretty loose in the 5 gallon when I move her to 12/12 and by the end of flower her roots are getting pretty packed in and I feel that i have better control over feeding and flushing at the very end.

I used to vege longer in the 1 gallon, and up pot just before flowering, but felt that I was dumping a bunch of unused soil going that route. (I know to re-use soil, and I'm using it to remediate the CLAY in my backyard into something resembling dirt!!!! :D )
