Cheap easy waterproof floor?

My shed has 1/8" composite-wood sheets nailed down to floor joists, not exactly the best thing for getting wet. I have a piece of linoleum big enough to cover the entire floor, but that would require getting some linoleum glue and a trowel, and seems like a bit of a headache, especially since I've never laid a floor before.

Anyone know a better, cheap and easy DIY waterproof floor option? I can't be the only guy ever to have this problem :) :thank you:

pvc shower pan liner works great (home depot). pond liner works too, but i have never seen it in any color but black

If you have a piece to do the whole floor with out seams just lay it in loose, cut it to fit and hold the edges down with the base board trim. This is done all the time in smaller rooms.

BTW, I hope your floor is thicker than 1/8".

Hope this helps.

I guess it's 1/4", not 1/8". It's almost veneer thickness, except, chipboard. It definitely isn't something that you would necessarily think of to make a floor out of.

Thanks for the suggestions, they all seem good. If anyone else has an idea I'm all ears.

Pond liner is great, but most of them won't hold up to any sort of traffic long term. You can run it a good handspan up the sides and cover the edges up nice with some cheap vinyl base molding. I did this for a few years using a heavier grade of liner and a felt "walking strip" running down the middle. Linoleum as I recall isn't actually waterproof, just resistant.

just line the floor w/ Ebb & Flow trays various square shaped sizes....
or go cheaper and find a KIDDY pool @ walmart that will cover the majority of the floor and only place plant inside there.....
also have seen 3 x 3 square plastic underliners used for hot water heaters.......@ homdepot....

You could just use a clear coat(deck stain), and put a couple coats down. then caulk all the edges. That would probably be the cheapest.

Pond liner for the win!

Wooooord all my floors are covered in pond liner!

Homemade trays with it as well.. and as to not holding up in traffic I call BS! Had the same pond liner on the floor for about a year... no rips..tears..holes.

Permanent sealing which will outlast the next nuclear war ;) (and the shed plus you?)

Get a Gallon of Fiberglass/Epoxy Resin and roll it on the floor.
