many thanks for lookin at the thread, the black backgrounded leaves were picked off today the 5th, while the rest of the photos came from about a week back.

what weirds me out is that some plants are honky dory and others look like this and are stunted.

exact same amendments and same ratios in each hole... allowing for a hiccup here or there while counting out measurements.

from what i've seen its not a strain specific problem, there being healthy plants of the variety as well as less healthy plants of the same kind.

hmmm. looks like nute burn or grossly overwatered. however if some are ok and other not is there a possibility the roots of some plants are hitting something in yr beds (compliments on all the effort you've put in!) which they don't like?
otherwise ... flush flush flush!

Classic nute burn.

I'm guessing due to hot spots in the organic mixture. Or, you have a sensitive plant if it's only happening on certain pheno's.

I would just grow through it and check the soil mix over with the organic people. They can usually tell what what wrong. I know overdoing bloodmeal is common and hotspots are problems.

another grow book had pics and a decription that looked like possible K def to me... i love the opinions keep em comin guys.

Oh, another detail - the dry amendments... bone, dolo, kelp, gypsum, and oyster shell all went in as the soil was mixed... allowing no breakdown time. only thing that aged b4 planting was some promix and castings w/ bloodmeal.

I just burned some young plants with seed starter buffered to ~6.2 w/ dolomitic lime (no breakdown time.) The lime burned the tips first, then the leaf margins.

This didn't look like K def where the leaf edges are affected. More like burn between the veins, along the margins.

I potted up w/ plain pro mix and they're doing much better. Hope you get it worked out.

I used pro-mix with nothing else for my seedlings and it also burned my seedlings.

I researched this a lot and it seems that pro-mix actually has 1 feeding built into the soil that they don't advertise.

Congrats to DB! Classic K def. but then that leads the op to another question, why? It could be calcium in your hard water or too much N? Not to worry though as molasses has healing properties as does kelp/seaweed extracts. Could also go with a light feeding of some organic something or other too. Good luck and they will be great. Dont hesitate to feed a large plant, IMHO they eat a little more as they get bigger. NS

OP, not implying to add more K. Whoa there Crush, just investigate why...very well could be bound up and sitting in the mix. Why do you think its burn? No claw, dark green or wilting from the top(too much N) Just sayin. NS

sorry to hijack..but i have some yellow on some older fan leaves...we are at day 23 of 65 day finished...starting to pack on weight and resin...could this be normal? is it always a sign of def?

im thinking since the plant is truly starting to flower and the stretch has slowed down, i am hoping it a natural part of flowering...i KNOW later on in the last few weeks its normal for the leaves to use all their energy but i wasnt sure about this early on.

we are essentially just past the 1/3 mark. also, sorry for ramblin and not making sense. took a snap of a strong sativa...

july 12th update.. looking like issue(s)? are clearing up largely, and the stunting from the problems is evident between plants of the exact same parent.

as a scale of size, the pots are a little over 4 foot wide a piece.
