The HUGE disconnect between commercial growers and MMJ is becoming VERY apparent. It's like the growers haven't even heard of this worldwide recession, forget about reacting to burgeoning market. But the fact is the feds and big drug companies see all the whining and disconnect and rub their greedy little hands together. They WILL get their nut and know the MMJ is a growing, unstoppable phenomena. It's just a HUGE market to them. But apparently most growers are very short term thinkers. They usually only look to maximize profits today. But those big dudes are willing to wait, put up more shit for people to argue about, because they know the real profits will come when they can ride in to save the day. Jesus, look at history. It's has happened EVERY SINGLE TIME. In 20 years most growers will be only a fading memory, yet the fed and big drug company controlled MMJ business will be HUGE.

I just don't get this at all. I have no idea what the answers are. I just see this situation as totally unsustainable and inevitably doomed:ying:

the answers are not everyone is about he money some of us are all about the meds

its always been the "underground railroad" except now we have big pharma fueling big government to rewrite the laws to their benefit

like i predicted before it happened there will still need to be an "underground railroad" to keep the life saving MIND FREEING weeds here for those who seek to free themselves from the "matrix"

I agree that big corporations mess everything up. I have a feeling though that the growers of today will be comparable to the organic farmers of today. Smaller, more localized output, while compared with the giant farming corps pushing product around the world.

Ha... this is an early morning buzz! Wakn bakn eh? ;-)

I'll tell you this much... it isn't 'usually' about maximizing profits... it's only about that, or rather, maximizing shareholder value... usually through profits.

Here's what's coming from my biz background... economies of scale. It is happening in CO... and this is with a bunch of horse shit grade crap... let alone when the quality actually starts stepping up.

Goal is to produce as much as is possible, with as little as is possible, while maintaining a good enough end product. Basically, you drive the price per unit down to it's bare minimum... maybe 100 or 200 per... maybe lower... and you undercut everyone to sell all you got, with a small margin, but made into big profits through volume.

Anyone that grows smaller than this, can't compete on a price per unit basis... and they starve/go broke/forced outta the market.

And this is starting to happen with millions of the funny money... wait til the real pros come to play... the behemoth production companies, with the real money & gear & foresight.

Only way around it is through regulation & intervention... but by whom? The bed buddies of these behemoth corps?

Remember, the only mandate these companies have is to maximize shareholder value... they have no other reason to exist.

Yuh, right. And nobody knows that ANYONE can go on the internet these days, or next year, and go to any of the many, many sites out there, like wonderful ICMAG here, and learn they can grow their own organic dank that's way better than ANY commercial shit, and do it for really cheap. YOU bake, I'll grow thanks. You only demean yourself and insult me by implying you know more than anybody.:tiphat:

ive seen federal grade marijuana first hand, have you? they are in no way trying to compete i can promise you that, they are doing exactly what MIway said. get some federally grown shake yourself and see how terrible it actually is, on top of running their crop through a pass of radiation.. its just disgusting but leave it to he feds to try poisoning us and kill us off in every way possible.

for one cannabis has been so widely accepted since the beginning of time regardless of how illegal its been in some places people just dont care. they have known that a huge majority will not even want to bother with federal marijuana as a huge majority of people dont like fruits and vegetables that are available in grocery stores they much rather hit a farmers market or just grow their own, same applies to cannabis and i think is a huge reason why there is such a huge debate about making it legal on a federal scale.. they are still questioning if its worth it to them so far it hasnt proved to be. so far laws just keep getting worse and worse so thats my opinion about the matter.

cannabis would have been released in every single place in america federally ages ago if they knew it was that easy to destory the competition and there would be no debate whether it should be legal or not, but as time goes by people become more aware of what our federal governments true goals actually are, which only seem to be population control and making money off that. i mean why else would things as dangerous as tobacco and alcohol still be around, cause they are freaking awesome at killing people fast and making all the money you could dream of while doing so..

i have no clue who you are saying is insulting you or implying they know more than you, pretty confused with that line anyway.. the feds cant ride in and save the day with this one, there is nothing to save other than making it legal. that is why its been the way it has been. like you said history repeats itself then how did you miss that part?

federal grade marijuana is pretty bad, maybe you have seen it yourself but it is gross as shit, it is nothing but shake.. radiated shake. i can bet, once marijuana if ever becomes widely legal, all these health problems coming from it will start to surprisingly arise, its no secret the government will put whatever the fuck they want in it.. just like most federally funded tobacco companies that will most likely hinder our health.

i mean things have gotten so bad people arent even buying tobacco anymore they grow it themselves. the fed have taken making a profit for the sacrifice of ones health way too far for way too long and nothing is being done about it in a good enough sense.

Afternoon daver! Think you mistook my first post bro... it was 6am est & you posted that rant, which shit, I kinda agree with bro... you totally took me wrong.

I was on a morning wakenbake! And it seemed you were too... I wasn't alienating you, but rather stoked on the idea... and blew my mornin buzz too! Just was fun is all, not hostile at all... at least not my intentions.

And shit bro... I was kinda agreeing with your concerns all around... a big old shit ass mess... and more shit a comin... and we're all frustrated with it.

Fuck dude, don't go away mad... it's your thread bro! Peacnpuffs

Short-term thinkers? No. More like short on the Jewish banking connections that run the world. We growers almost universally know that we'll continue to face persecution until we die for this. And we know when it reaches the breaking point, the corporations will have concocted a way to get their nut, and we'll be back to wage slavery.

This isn't intellectually out of our grasp, dude. We just happen to be middle class people who can't reach out to the Fed Chair and the CEO of Merck and Co. and tell them what needs to be done in order to maximize our piece of the pie.

Welcome to Capitalism, where mildly retarded people think the "free market" is freedom, and that the worlds problems stem from food stamp recipients playing Madden. It's not like we don't see this shit unfolding. We just know there is nothing that can be done. This country has been useless since the Rockefeller's, son.
