I've read some of his books, so I'm curious what everyone thinks of the guy.

Graham Hancock is well known for the following theories among others:

-There is evidence of an antediluvian civilization spread amongst ancient sites.
-A lost civilization is responsible for many of the technologies and beliefs we see in ancient cultures.
-The Orion Correlation Theory of the Egyptian Pyramids.
-It is likely that Plato's Atlantis is this lost civilization.
-Generally that ancient civilizations had knowledge of advanced astronomical concepts such as precession and that these informed their architecture and beliefs.
-Shared spiritual beliefs among ancient cultures are not a coincidence but have roots in the real nature of the spiritual world, revealed through altered states of consciousness, hallucinogens, even our DNA.

He has been accused of pseudoscience/archaeology by some in the fields' mainstream, and hailed by others as a hero of truth.

Im just reading his Underworld now, its a good read he seems to do his research well. Personally i think alot of what he says is true and that comes from completely different sources ( this is the first book of his iv read). There is plenty of evidence for some of his theories and mainstream archeologists always ignore what goes against the grain, there are too many old theories that are still set in stone and need updating imho...Peace

I realize this thread is pretty old, but I recently started watching the series "Ancient Aliens" on Netflix. I like some of the stuff Graham says when they interview him, but wow, some of the other theories they talk about on that show are pretty out there. Like why would Aliens with the ability to travel between star systems need monuments to show them where to land.

A little off-topic, but another good show on Netflix is "The Pyramid Code". Very interesting stuff.

Graham has some pretty interesting theories in books like "Underworld", "Fingerprint's of the Gods", and "Heaven's Mirror". All are heavily recommended books, especially "Fingerprint's of the Gods".

What I think is:

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Anything that doesn't pass this test must be taken with a shakerful of grains of salt.

I just watched DMT: The Spirit Molecule and he was in it. Most of the stuff on Ancient Aliens is very selective and inaccurate, so I would imagine Hancock's work is somewhere in between :)

True Wiggs. They show you what they think is evidence, some of it decent, some of it ridiculous.

Yeah Ancient Aliens is a little out there joe. I'll have to check out DMT: The Spirit Molecule. If you like that, you should read SuperNatural, by Graham Hancock. Very interesting read.
