Hi All!

Going to be moving into a new house in a little bit and was looking to purchase a tent. I have a 1000w digi ballast with a 1000w ushio bulb and a magnum xxxl 6" hood. I was wondering what size tent i should get and what CFM fan i should use to cool it. Ive read that 4x4-5x5 ft tent sizes are the best for 1000w grows but I was wondering if I could go bigger with the intent on expanding without any negative effects. I was thinking about getting a the 3'11'' by 7'11'' grow lab (So i can expand later) and just taping off a 4x4 area and placing my plants within it and my light directly over it. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

If you have the room, get the biggest one you can.

I started with a DR150 (5x5) and 1000 watts. I had it over crowded in no time, plus the sides will suck in when venting and I hate the plants up against a wall.

Get the bigger one for now, put your light in the middle and enjoy the space!

Same principle for fans, bigger is better. You can get a controller to slow down the better fans. I have a 10" into 10" duct in one room running at about 25% that you can hardly hear, while in the next room I have a 4" into 6" duct that sounds like a jet taking off.

Have fun!

It depends on if you can cool a 4x4 or not and what your goals are. Heat is a tents biggest problem in summer time so the bigger the better as far as cooling but always remember the 5o watt per sq. rule for light.
I'd go with either a dr120,dr150 with dimmable ballast or a dr240 wide and use a light rail to cover the whole tent. Go as big as your space and wallet will let you and don't cut cost on intake an exhaust fans. The S&P inline fans are great for tents and use insulated duct for noise and about 3 to 5 degrees cooler in the tent.

Thanks for the input Tony. What CFM fan would you suggest if i went for the 3'11'' by 7'11'' size tent?

I have a 5x5 tent and a 3x3 table with a 1000w HPS in there. I feel like I don't have enough room in there. The girls grow out to the sides in no time.

I would highly recommend the new DR150s. I have the old style one, but if I read the charts right the new ones have larger duct holes (8 or 10, can't remember). I wish I had larger ducting.
