If I travel to Oakland, can I buy from a store?

I'm from out of state and it would cost me a few hundred bucks to get to Oakland CA, but I need medicine for my arthritis and there is nowhere else I can seem to find any. Would i be able to show up in Oakland and buy medicine from a dispensary? I'm trying to avoid dirty stuff from the streets.

Thanks for the replies. I cant grow my landlord comes in once a month. I might try something in the closet but that would still take a few months to grow it out and doesnt solve my need for it now.

Are there places in Canada I could do this? I hear Vancouver but is there something on the eastern side or central too?

Just be resourceful. Go to smoke shops first and ask around - don't ask the workers personally for bud, but asking about local 'lenient' docs isn't off limits.

Sometimes you'll get a nice guy who knows how or where to obtain. Staying in a big open hostel will usually net you at least one roomie with a rec or way to get in. I had a small visit to Cali and got to see inside a few shops - a pretty awesome sight for those who aren't used to it.

Some are sketchy, some are good. most have secrets on the accounting end. I worked at a dispensary, we had a "compassion" program run by us employees and donations (mostly from employees). free weed, free hash, free edibles. whatever we could give them we did. including samples from wannabe vendors that we deemed un-sellable.
