uhhhhh, what's the question??? LOL ...

oh, ok i thought your sig was part of the post. nice pick up, you'll love it for sure. all my pics on here are with a canon xti. unfortunately, icmag only allows so big of photos. adjustable white balance is a great feature when shooting under hps.

Superman congrats on your new cam. Sounds like you have the equipment to get some macros now all you need is the time. Buddy I'm still learning and trying to get good images, macros are tough. You should add a remote shutter release to your arsonal and use mirror lock-up if it allows you to do so. Lighting is important to.
I can not tell anyone how to get the perfect macro shot, I hope you understand. I might shoot a couple hundred to get only a few I like, and I've been doing it for years. There are some helpful photography forums like Fredmiranda.com you might pick up some ideas. What I would need to see is your pix, what settings and set up you used to get them, and then possibly I could give you some pointers. Looking forward to seeing those pix...most of all-have fun! I use Aperture mode myself. This lest me change the depth of field on the fly(F-STOP). Manual is tricky you have to set everything and its to time consuming for me. I use thes 2 mostly Aperture or shutter.

so in an attemp to learn how to operate the camera. i have started reading the guide it came with. one warning made me laugh .{ when operating the diopter adjustment control with your eye to the viewfinder, care should be taken not to put your finger in your eye accidentally} WTF and secondly i didnt know my diopter was adjustable. i am in search of how to change f stop. hope i can find it quicker than the time it took me to find the g stop LOL. i found a mention on mirror lock up. it dont sound like something to do with pictures as much as maintanance {option locks the mirror up position to allow inspection and cleaning of low pass filter that protects the ccd image sensor. to ensure power to lower mirror nikon reccomends using ac adaptor.} i am looking into remote shutter release with high speed to compensite for camera blurring from shake. think its worth it ? mL-L3 remote

Absolutely needed for macro pics. on Nikon's mirror lock up does nothing for picture taking its only for maintenance

I should have mentioned in my other post that the mirror lock up is not available on the D90, D100, D200, D300, D700, D2 and D3 families (and perhaps some others).Meaning you cant lock it and take a pic. The exposer delay on the D2 and D200 is 0.4 second but it is 1 second on the current models 90,100,200,300. The exposer delay is the closes thing to mirror lock up we can do. You will need to read up on the D70 I'm not familiar with that model. If you can lock the mirror and take a pic it will work.
