Hey,

first at all :thank you: Mr_Micro, sugabear_II and ScrubNinja!

I'm about to build a Nanomachine too, today I've done:

Cleaned an old ATX-Case and marked the rivet to remove them.
Also I successfully attached a Fan to a dc adapter with a luster.

A construction list is already written, tomorrow I'll drill the rivets out.

(My first language isn't english so please admit my written mistakes :tiphat:)

Hehe thanks,

i dont want to harverst more than 5g I think this is possible.

For now the rivets are out. About 20 easily drilled out.

Next step will be cutting a mainboard for fake connectors :kissass:

It's done now I have some connectors at the rear of my case :)

I found some material to split the chambers (electronic/grow)
the piece on picture 4 will be used for the front.

Next steps:

- I have to cut a bigger board for the split

- Order some fans 2 x 80mm/(3.15inch) one for intake, the second one for better airflow in the electronic chamber.
- And 1 x 120mm /(4.72inch) to blow the odor through the carbon filter (Modell: sugabear)
The fans will be some Noiseblocker BlackSilent X-Series
? Find a white color/reflector foil

- no work today :D

Chillin at the lake :)

hey nice build.. I actually made a build like this about 2 wks ago.. 1st i was wonderings about your fans the Noiseblocker BlackSilent X-Series, are they really that silent? cause i have regular psu fans which are a bit loud for a regular working pc so its kind of suspicious. Also what ideas have you came up with for a light trap cause i have not came up with one yet.. And i was wondering what size cfl you plan on using, I have a 80w bulb but its like 3900 lumens i need to get at least a 105w or 125 lol.. anyways i'll be pullin up a chair for ya grow! peace

I thought about a 42w bulb for flower and veg /2700k and 6400k about 3200lumens,
the fans aren't ordered yet but i have a 120mm noisblocker (s-series i think) its about 19db (tested on 12v) and I cant hear it :) so the x series have about 10db so this will be super silent - my new idea was to order 2 x 80mm for the flower chamber and for the electronic chamber ill mybe use the 120mm in a stripped power supply (will get it tomorrow) - First test with a 30watt bulb was about 77°F, but the case is still open in the back - just a first test

until I will make it light proof you will see it :)

Today I'll make some tests,

chambers are seperated now,

need to cut holes for the fans in the wood(I think should order them today)

My camber is nearly lightproof, I have some tape to fix it in my car, now waiting for the first temp.
So, the tape don't works, have to find something else.

07-04-11
I have now an idea for the lightproblem, was a bit too busy, tomorrow I'll continue my work. (Get some white silicon)

07-07-11
Hopefully, I found a good solution for a filter system that is replaceable and is outside of the flower chamber. (Get netpot, pantyhouse and active carbon)

07-15-11
I tested some ideas for the scrubber, I want to use some silent PC Fans, so I have to push the air through the carbon
1. Some air comes back and cools the lamp
2. I hope the odor will be filtered

Hi,

I have some new bulbs, hope they fit:

https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?p=4590910#post4590910

Now I have to get the chamber light proof got some bar with 45° angle to get it at the corners light proof and some black silicon.

2 Lamps and the right bulb socket, I hope I'll get this one wired.

At least I have to order mylar foil (flat white paint) and get some carbon to kill the odor.

And a thermo-hygrometer :)

t-8 florescent tubes work well and some emit very little heat, if you could think of a way to fit 2-4 t-8 tubes in the top that would be cool, you'd have to use the whole case though, paint that wood with a flat black paint and put it all the way against the back of that case and put some t-8 tubes in there, would be really good IMO

12" tubes are rated around 650 lumens

Have changed the bulbs to PL-L, and I want to use mylar foil to get a better reflection than with white paint (why black paint =!=!?!), I saw a lot of ppl do this:>

I'm saying the side you have against the back of the case black, so you can put that wood right up against the back without people noticing, that's a lot of space you're not using, and light bulbs get hot in small spaces.

Sermet

ahh, now I understood it. The chamber behind will be painted black and the small space is for wireing the bulbs and the scrubber, just a sample, now I'm thinking about PL's :) and I already have an idea to get more space :)

07-30-11

Today I changed the bulbs for the PL-L idea, I think this is the easiest way for the size of a pc case, I need to order some socket and a ballast to power them

It's:
Philips MASTER PL-L 24W/827 4p

24W | 1.800 Lumen | 4.000 K

- two for veg and two for flower -

Philips MASTER PL-L 24W/840 4p

24W | 1.800 Lumen | 2.700 K

07-31-11

Fake PSU is ready :) with a 3x extension lead, case will be cutted soon (1/ballast for bulbs with timer, 2/fan, 3/open)

08-02-11

I changed my DIY PSU connection :D, don't wanna burn down my house :)

The scrubber is built, carbon is missing will be ordered soon :)

At least I need some mylar foil, ballast should arive in about 1-2 days

THE END IS NEAR ! :jump:

Ballast arived, wired it, aaaaaaaaaand its working, I luv PL-L ! 2 x 24w

Easy wired, watch picture. I was able to feel the light on my skin, but the tubes weren't hot :)

The ballast is wired as following (at the 2G11 Socket are 4 connectors):

16 -> 1 | 15 -> 2 | 14 -> 3 | 13 -> 4
12 -> 1 | 11 -> 2 | 10 -> 3 | 9 -> 4

Next step, paint the back of the wood black, thx for the tip molton ! (I found no black here, I hope dark brown will do it too)

Working at the scrubber and lightening (scrubber is easy replaceable, only have to remove the fan, maybe I'll find some winged screws on here

So you know, once you see the numbers, mylar is not much more effective than flat white paint. Its also much easier and less laborious to install.

But if you stick with the mylar, idk if you know, but it can be bought in the camping aisle of your local department store. Its sold as a mylar emergency blanket, only costs like .97, and would be enough for your entire case!

I dont want you to get ripped on shipping such an inexpensive item if you can find it locally. Good luck brother, your case is looking great.

thx for the post, I was googlin around and a lot of ppl say mylar causes hotspots, so I first going to take the flat white (I think there was some in the cellar), my plants shall have a good life in there :)

Last Post of the construction:

How to prepare the scrubber and getting the case lightproof

08-10-11
Carbon arrived
Getting some mesh for the scrubber and to protect the plants of exhaust fan
Some pots for the plants

So to get the scrubber ready was easy, I got some mesh to protect trees and fixed it with some tape (Can someone tell me how much carbon I need to get it working ?)

And I got some pots for the seedlings 12
cm/Ø and 16cm/Ø for the plants.

Now I have everything ! So it's time to get it together ! :beat-dead

This post is for pre-finished case :)

08-15-11

Waiting to get some screws and a saw to get it light proof :(

To Do:

- Cut aluminium bars
- Fill and test the scrubber

Its 80.6 in my room, sooo maybe I need to find a cooler place...

First heat test (30min without fan):
@91.4°F
Second heat test (30min with exhaust fan without carbon):
@87.8°F

[NoiseBlocker BlackSIlentPRO@120mm - this one is really quiet, if it has enough m³ I'll use a second one, my first idea was to put the box in my cellar but its super quiet, I think it can stay in my room if the temp is not to high in here !]

Ohhh... I used the wrong fan for exhaust :D tomorrow more
