hey guys i was raided today by local pd .. fortunately i am legal by the county ordinance in cali.. they did not seize anything nor did they arrest me.. should i be cautious about them returning with the dea? what should i do? i tried to contact my lawyer but he is out of the office for the whole weak ..

time to get a new lawyer... i dont know if your retaining him or not... . but if you are you should have his personal cell and should pick up no matter what.

Did they have a warrant? Do you have a copy of it? Was it a compliance check or a raid? Did you let them in? How many of them? Dogs? Responding to a complaint? From?

The lawyer thing is BS. Get a new one who is- or has an associate available- 24/7.

You spelled "week" "weak," unless of course you intended it to be so...in which case it would be correct.

Mother-fuck an attorney that takes a week off from his clients. My doctor is on call 24-7 365 and has done more for society by noon than a lawyer has done in his life, and these slime-balls think they can take a week off, no phones??

Do everyone who has a lawyer on retainer a favor by reinforcing precedent, firing your attorney, writing a negative review online ("In Bahamas when I really needed him!"), and file a complaint to the bar. I'm serious.


To the crux of it, I recommend you shut down. I recommend this because I don't know your life situation, and I'd feel like shit if something happened a week from now.

What would I do? Are you under 99? If so and in a cool county, I'd keep truckin. I don't feel like they hand the DEA softballs like that unless they hate you. That's not to say the DEA won't go after small fries- they absolutely do and will- but I don't know of "hand-off" precedent unless the guy did something really fucking dumb (Like talk shit on a national television program and literally mock the DEA, for example).

If they wanted to be asshats they would have brought the DEA by the first time around. I highly doubt they would find you within all your limits, then come back with the DEA.

If they raided you in cali and found you to be legal, odds are you fucked up or you wouldn't of been raided in the first place.

Odds of them coming back are slim to none unless you are over 99 in which case sure, if you were dicks to them/pissed them off they might hit up DEA but most likely you are fine.

Re: what would I do. I would try to figure out how you fucked up and change that shit asap so you don't get ripped.

I was visited this spring and my partner had a rifle pointed at his chest for a moment in the process. Local sheriff looking for someone who used to live there. All sorted out in the end but uncool event regardless. We are legal and they made it clear there were no qualms with our op when they left. Not stressed but it makes me want to move 2 hrs up a dirt road into the mountains next year. Also, they didn't give two shits about the rifle he had there either, FYI.
