Hummidity problems

I am using a 600 hps in a hood with the glass on. That leaves my rooom at about 67% hummidity and 75-80 degrees but i want to get the hummidity to about 50. If i remove the glass from tghe hood, the room drops to about 54% hummidity and 80-82 degrees by the end of the day. But then returns to 67% by the next morning. Does anyone have ideas on hw i can keep the hummidity down at night without buying a dehumidifier? Thank you for your suggestions:gday:

P.S. I bring fresh air in from an outside window then have my carb filter in the opposite corner. The carb is ventented to the light which is then vented to an inline fan and out the window

hi dude,

3 solutions :

1) You can buy an AC. you gain cold air + deshumidifier in the same tool.
2) You need a bigger extraction fan.
3) You can buy some "dehumidifier powder" at home-depot or the same kind of shop.

I advice you the solution 1.

Thank you i will probably just buy a dehumidifier. Any reason you would recomend the A/C over a dehumidifier besides to cool the air

If you are bringing fresh air from outside wich is the humidity outside ??

If you are constantly feeding your growroom with fersh air at 60-70% RH your dehumidifier or A/C will run to waiste and they are going to work All day long.

Put the glass back and go buy a dehumidifier .

The dehumidifier will rise the temparature inside you room and will lower the RH more efficiently but the A/C will cool down your room while lowering the RH .

I know that this is not an answer to your question but i just write down my thoughts.
For me there is only one efficient trouble free method seal this room.

Or simply buy a small window air conditioner with non digital controls. Place it entirely inside the grow room without placing it in a window. Tilt air conditioner to rear and to one side a slight bit to catch water removed. Controlled by a simply humidistat. Cheaper, longer life. As the air conditioner uses air from within the room and does not exhaust to out side the room their will be a slight heat gain just as with a dehumidifier.

First thing that struck me was your fan located after the hood... along with removing the glass, that means all the odors the girls are making goes right out your window.

Basically, the room is saying that you need the air exchange... try placing the fan on top of the Carb, then vent tube to the hood, then tube to the window... and always leave the glass on. This assumes the Carb is in the room itself, as this should keep a constant exchange going for you, naturally reducing the RH to the levels you suggested.

Then, buy a cheap ceramic heater & crank it staring about 10-15 minutes before the lights go out & keep it going until the lights kick back on. This should keep the temps up & the RH in range... along with your air exchange... and can adjust that w a contoller even. Dial it in.

Cheaper than a deuy & might be enough... for now. ;-)
