I love chilis, jalapenos, and sweet banana peppers, I use those all in my chili-gumbo, tasty and healthy. Habaneros, taste great, but make my asshole flame the next day, and I really ain't into that.

That's good advice. The seeds and the white stuff are actually the hottest part of the chili! If your chilies are too hot you can just remove the seeds and it will be a lot more tolerable allowing you to taste the fruit (capsaicin doesn't actually mask flavours, but it can be a little hard to concentrate on tasting if you have hot lava in your mouth)

Got into growing hot peppers over 10 years ago after getting a "mixed chile" freebie pack of seeds from an online seed swap forum. Grew that Thai last year. Not as hot as others I grow. Use the peppers I grow for salsa, sauces and pickling. And make chili powder.

Peppers are easy to grow. Lots of sun and almost no fertz. Some varieties have a long growing season. Reimerseeds.com has extensive listings. Use for research. Pepper seeds take a long time to germinate. I use bottom heat to speed the process. Start indoors around middle of March and plant outdoors after June 1.

Use latex gloves when handling. Protective eyeware is a plus as they can be so juicy!
