i've just got a grow tent and i couldnt afford a carbon filter and a fan extractor,so could i put ducting going from both sides of my extractor fan into the tent for a bit......would this create a air flow (suckin air out and puttin it back in) that would be o.k for my plants.....it sounds o.k in my head but just wanted to check that i could do this without missing my plants up..........

it would only be for 2 weeks until i could afford a carbon filter so smell would'nt be an issue,i'm more bothered about heat

What would be the point? You'd just be putting all the stale air back into the grow tent.

You could cool the air in the ducting with a heat-exchanger, but it would still be stale and would cost more than a fan and CF!

FWIW, fresh air is more important to the plants than a bit of excessive heat. If you were only going to do it for a couple of weeks, just delay your grow by that much.

I am not clear on what is happening. Is the tent air going into the duct and the other end of the duct dumps right back into the tent? If not you should be good.

I have a distant relative of a tent. My venting is out only, passive intakes, but works to keep the air moving just fine. The room I vent to has a window and a fan, this sucks room temp air into the budroom. Stinks up the area, but not as much as my neighbor's horses.

Blowing air out of a tent into a room and floor level air feeding the intake should keep the plants cool enough. The post is a little vague on the details.

i dont see the point in doing that at all.
you need an air EXCHANGE, all youre doing is recirculating air that is stale and lacking co2. there isnt much co2 in air to begin with, so thats where the constant exchange comes into play.

also youre going to be recirculating hot air, there wont be any cooling factor involved.

are you running this air through a sealed hood? give more information as to how youve got it setup and what equipment youre using.
