mother/clone cab

hi all im new here but been a long time reader, im going to be building a mother/clone cab its going to be for bonsai mums there will be 10 of them 2 of each strain i can get of a freind anyway the cab is 4x2x2 and i have to 4ft shop lights and 2x 20 1600 cfls will this be enough light to keep them happy

For moms, I'd say that 2 shop light fixtures (4 x 4' tubes) is more than enough. The cfl's will generate more heat than you'll want for such a small enclosure.

right the 4ft floros are out they were broke so i have in there a 3ft 30w floro and 2x 20w 1600 cfls is this enough light or will i need more ???

ok if i post a pick of the cab can someone give me some advice on the lights and cooling the mother/clone box i decided against getting the clones from my m8 as i dont want anyone to know im doin this so i got some auroa indica seeds and they are germin at the min so i realy need to get this cab finished so i can start on my flower cab so any help would be great

Less light just means they'll grow more slowly. You could probably still get a few hundred clones with 3 x 3' fluorescents per cycle. As soon as you start adding cfl's, you'll need to worry about ventilation. The bathroom fan you posted a link to would work fine for your space, if you decided to add the cfl's. I'd give it a try without the fan and cfl's first.

tnks for the reply cbm yet again this is how its setup at the min i done it befor you replied and its been on now for a few hrs the floro is just one 35w bulb and then the 2 20w cfls, i have them placed along the middle of the top of the cab "hard mounted" the floro is in the middle and one 20w on each side of that the temps in the cab are a steady 27 and hum is 54% i have orderd tow pc fans to exchange the air for this cab the fan on the link i was thinking of that for my flower cab it will be 1000w cfls

I've always been amazed at how little light is needed to keep mother plants going. It's a different story all together when they flower, but veg growth is not very light intensive.

tnks very much for your advice CBM, once my fans get here i think i will only install one of them and see how the temps are with it, the temps are fine and there is alot of light just from them 3 lights so from what your saying there is more than enough. when it comes to building my flower cab i hope your on hand for some advice its going to be SOG with 1000w of cfls i have been redin dr buds post and he seems o have it nailed so we will see how i go
