mendo purps..............

Funny reading this thread again for me too, dankbudz. I've smoked the purps many times now and seen her grown out by a friend. Great taste and bag appeal and people love her. Doesn't pack a huge punch but its a pleasant high. Quick tolerance buildup. The bubble was ok, a cool kind of grey with a purple tint but def not full melt.

I actaully had some cuts lined up for outside this year but they all died due to heat. Too bad I would have liked to try purps outside as I'm sure she'd be even tastier. Ahh well maybe next year. I'd def watch for mold though as she packs on some dense nugs. I'm still interested in hearing her finish date outside.

Edit: I forgot I had some pics. Wish I had some of the plant she is real pretty mid-end flowering.

It's True...MP is just really sensitive to tha microclimates...whether it's tha root zone microclimate or tha ambient microclimate.

Granted, if ya have multiple MP's in tha same system (bed o' dirt, ebb & flow hydro, etc...) and thar all getting tha same exact treatment...then they'll all look tha same. In tha past I've had multiple beds of MP...with variations in phenotype bed ta bed...sumthin' akin ta what ya'd see in pot ta pot variations, which is kinda what JK was talkin' about in tha CB2.

Here's anutha example o' MP phenotypic variation...lookin' like a completely different plant vs. tha first pic I posted.

this is a purple cut i ran for a couple cycles-told it was grape ape, but many have said since it was prob mendo purp. IMO if ya got the purple erkle, probably better off, but its just an opinion. my cut of GDP beat this cut of purps out.

Here's my Mendo Purps, I love this cutting.......

And here's my OG Kush x Mendo Purps cross, and I like this one more, I am getting big yields of dank Purple Buds, and FLAVA to go, although it took me some hard work to find this keeper pheno, but , I did :jump:

THANKS DBUDZ, I HOPE THAT THE MENDO PURPS I WAS GIVEN A FEW YEARS BACK IS THE REAL ONE, BECAUSE AFTER LOOKING AT SOME OF THESE ON THIS THREAD I AM KINDA DOUBTING IT, BUT I HAVE ALSO NOTICED THE DIFFERENCE IN THE SAME CLONE FROM THE SAME MOTHER IN DIFFERENT SET-UPS, FROM SPOT TO SPOT...

NONETHELESS I LOVE IT....

THIS IS THE SAME ONE IN A DIFFERENT SPOT, AND GROWN IN THE MIDDLE OF SUMMER, IT'S AT ABOUT WEEK 6....
PEACE

Heres a few of some mendo I ran from seed
This is the more sativa dominate pheno, just starting to purple, unfortunately I have no pictures of her pre harvest but I am running her sister now which is more indica dominate and i will try and get some pics tonight...

This sat more sat dom smells and tastes wonderful, kind of like a dank grapey skunk, with tiny hints of pine in with the skunk, and a really grapey skunky kool-aide taste

The indy is straight candy grapey-blueberry, at times it really doesn't even smell like weed, more like some sort of exotic friut or something, either way every seed i pop is keeper in its own right

Bandit- Those pics look tasty. How fast does that MPxOG cross veg and stretch? It looks dead on a Hum purp variety.

I ran BCBD's Mendo purps and it grew rock hard arrowhead shaped golfball size buds in a e/f SOG. Was a light feeder, didnt like ppms higher than [email protected]. Went about 45 days before trichs were mosty cloudy. Didn't turn completely purple even with night time temps of 58F Bud had purple calyx and leaves sprinkled throughout the otherwise lime green buds.

Smell is like artificial grape/black pepper corn. Taste's like hash when blazed, leaves a hint of the grape taste after a snapper.

Everyones purps looks dank as hell.

I wish I had some a digi cam to post pictures, SOON I will!!!

Harborside Health Center in Oakland is currently testing all of it's medicine for THC, CBD,and CBN. We've found only a few strains that have a signifigant % of CBD. One was a purple strain from Mendo, supposedly Erkle but might be anything. It tested at 5.8% CBD. All of these were done A GCMS machine by a Bay area lab set up just to test cannabis for medical clubs.

Is this the strain which is be tested for CBD????

I'm liking the sound of this clone more and more. Any mold problems with her outside?
So far I got a lil powdery mildew that developed in late veg, and I veg indoors in a room with good air circulation but without a dehumidifier and it was rainy for extended periods with considerably high RH, so it was favorable conditions for mildew. I removed the mildew and sprayed with a product to suppress its growth/return, since there is no way for me to sterilize my veg space I just have to supress any molds/mildews until they go outside. Since I moved them outside, they got a few days of light rain in the first few weeks, since then its been dry and warm, and i have not had any recurrence of mildews or mold. It has seemed to be weaker in its defenses against thrips, aphids and mites, as compared to my master kush x platinum kush and p98 bubba. I flower outside using a light dep tent giving them 12 hours of light, here she is just under 7 weeks into flower:

She definitely needed more time to veg, but i needed meds ASAP and have no income as I've recently beome disabled, so out it went. But i have another one of her vegging nice and large, and quite bushy surprisingly, with more babes to come. Definitely think its more of a sativa pheno and has taken a stronger sativa phenotypic variation(as talked about earlier in this thread) due to my microclimate: dry and warm, long direct sunlight hours...... I'm thinking it will need 10 weeks to finish if not more. I took a sample today at 50 days just to check it out and sample. I'm Still loading her with phosphorus and haven't even given up on the potassium yet, still gets molasses, 1 tbs/gal once a week, hoping to put a lil more weight on their still. Hope everything keeps going well for everyone and glad we've all found this great strain to enjoy.

Soon I'll have a nicely veggged out one starting to flower that will better show its glory. I'll be making a thread soon in these outdoor forums with that and my other outdoor plants, or check my album for the finished flower pics. Thanks, I'm stoked its doing well for my first time with the strain and being outdoors and flowering very early for the season. But as you said she's lookin beautiful, and it looks like the real mendo purp because it is from the original mom. Not one of those hybridized seeds offered by the seed companies or a clone of a clone of a clone passed on and kept poorly.
Hope things are going well for ya!

If anyone here has grown out this strain from seed would you pls let us know how it does in general, if it's a good representation of the original and from which seed vendor did it originate. I live in oz and so I can't get my hands on these clone only's but would love to grow out this strain if there is a good representation of it easily available in seed form out there.
