What's new

injured vet

i was injured by a couple of ied's last year in the stan and i have diagnosed chronic pain due to multiple injuries. i have searched strain after strain for a strain that will take the pain and put it in the background and or put a smile on my face to the point where i dont care about it.

i have looked at strains like medijuana and carmilisious, but i dont think that i want to start with those strains due to the difficulty of growing them. i have settled on big bud and a mix pack for my first attempt in years. i am going to use the dutch mans hydro system

so much has changed since the years of my youth where all you needed was a spot behind the parents barn and a few seeds from a hook up. any advice or tips will be used thanks!

Mr. Mountain

I am a vet myself, I may have a few good suggestions for you.

Vanilluna. My wife was sick with a sinus infection, miserable. She took a few tokes and was smiling and laughing, she forgot about being miserable! This is my new favorite.

Grape Krush: This stuff helps with sleep, attitude and pain.

Sweet Blue / AKA Sweetest Sativa: Powerfull!!!! It's half True Blueberry (a strain known for it's CBD content, and pain killing properties) I have a quick flowering pheno that stands up to some of the best "kush" around. The flavor is out of this world and the hash can soothe any pain, really!

Some strains take the pain away and some just make you forget about it. Don't forget that the pain relief graph is an inverted U shape (meaning that the best pain relief is found at a moderate dose, not a small or huge dose) This takes some individual trial and error.

Edibles are also a good option. I fully decarb BHO "Absolute" then mix it in a 1:1 ratio with lecithin and use roughly 100mg of "absolute" per ml of cocoanut or MCT oil. All that goes into a "00" capsule, (non vegan, they melt.)

I have found that edibles are probably the best thing for pain. You just need to experiment with the strain and the dose.

When you get enough posts to PM hit me up.

I really don't think you'll find "the strain" but along the journey I would say you should focus on quality of the flower. I've seen the same genetic grown 50 different ways with differing results. The best grown stuff is sooooo much better than mediocre stuff, and strain falls behind overall quality of grow.

The BHO and edible suggestion is great. Melt bubble hash is a friend for pain as well.

Blue welcome to IC, thank you for your contribution to our freedoms. I will say Indicas should be a good starting point for you, but I agree with Hydro..you may not find the strain. By that I mean, the strain that will take away all your pain. If you find one that helps put that smile back on your face you're on the right track. Keep us in your loop buddy, we'll try to help, be well, DD

I'm still looking, thank you for your service though! I find indica's & some heavy indica sativa's help like Williams wonder! Although it's extremely possible that nothing will ever take all the pain away, that's what I've found so far, even heavy drugs like morphine! Good luck & let us know if you find the holy grail of pain relief!!!!!:plant grow:

Pure indicas help ease pain from my experience. Afghani, Hindu Kush and the like were what I used. Best of luck to you.

Hoorah bro!

Hoorah bro!

Nam vet here bro, I feel you!

I've been a medicinal marijuana user since it helped me get thru hell in 1970

I'm growing Medijuana this season, also Bubba Kush & OG Kush. Any of those or any indica dominant strain.

Thank you again my brother!

peace

edibles are awesome, id recommend though starting at 50mg per ml per capsule, as 100mg can be a fairly strong dose if your new to edibles...

i eat 100-120 mg a dose and even after weeks of daily dosing it still sends me:abduct:

and it 100% is the best for pain...

t-5's are mainly used for veg. You need a LED light or HPS light for flower. If you use HPS, you're going to need a 6 inch centrifugal inline fan. I would recommend this option.

I would look into the high CBD strains or indica/CBD hybrids containing CBD as others have posted.

As for growing with t-5's.... It can be done but yield will be low. Do you have space and the ability to work with more? If not I would suggest looking at some of the CFL growers using a Sea of Green method to grow because the smaller lights can not penetrate very far or have many lumens. I have grown using 400W CMH's and really liked the finished product and heat and electricity costs were kept down. PM me if you would like more info, I'm glad to help a fellow vet!
