Carbon scrubbing circulating air

How effective would an in-room fan circulating air through a carbon scrubber work on eliminating odor. Would this method compromise security and would a scrubber be needed to have a designated exhaust to properly function?

Assuming you are talking about an inline fan or something like that, I think as long as its filtering faster than your exhausting the air it would work fine. I considered doing the same thing, but dont want a big blower inside the room for noise reasons. Might not be a bad idea to start the filter fan a few minutes earlier than the exhaust fan if you ever have to restart the room (power outage or whatever).
I scrub the exhaust.

scrubber good for sealed room or when room is not being exhausted. it will help kill odor inside the room. if you want to exhaust the room to outside, a carbon filter on the exhaust is a must if security is a priority.

Minimum contact time.

That is your worry, with a big fan and small filter.
Check the labels of filters, they give min. carbon weight and min contact time and rec. cfm.

Sealed room. Fan sits directly on top of the scrubber. Works like a champ. Was changing the pre-filter for the next run. Also put a variable switch on it. Makes it so versatile!

in-room fan circulating air through a carbon scrubber

i took this to mean in inline (axial) fan mounted to a carbon filter exchanging air "scrubbing" within the room. :dunno: what type of fan were you referring to?
