in a room 5x9 2 1000 watts, the plant containers are about a foot off the ground. i was qurious about where the net should go? should it be bout 3 feet away from were the lights dipping slightly at the hot spots or go lower and use more for a lower support than a cola support??

Set ur screen low and run green twist tie wire for cola support if u let them get that tall off the screen.

Screen height is arbitrary. Some place it below the pot, some high enough for grown men to sit under. The key (if placed above the pot) is to ensure enough space to get your hands under the screen. In a room size grow, you'll want an open aisle down the middle, maybe around the sides. No way can you stretch your arms under 9 feet of screen to get to the back of the grow.

i got bout 9 ft verticle, my llights are a foot from ceiling im goin to veg for a month as i only have 6 plants, they are going to be trees..
i put my screen high enough so i can get low and work underneath the foilage and screen

i'm running a scrog in a 10x5. 13 plants, 6.5 ft vertical space. scrog ha sbeen my majority grow method for a while...

you mentioned having it about 3' away. or closer.

you can use a screen as a cola support, which basically has vertical peaks of plant material supported by a screen.

personally, and i believe this is the main thrust of SCrOG, is to have the screen above the plants at an appropriate height that allows them to grow laterally to cover the screen between them. that's if you have multiple plants on a screen, some people rig a screen per plant...depends.

anyway, in the second scenario, you get an even canopy and no 'taller than the overall canopy' colas shading your plants.

i've got a 1k over a 5x5 area, and a 600 over the other 4'.

i'll grow maybe 6-10" above the screen, should get a rather even 2.5ish foot tall canopy, and use the 1k watts penetration to have nice colas. without having any of the plants shade the others.

anyway, thats how, and why i scrog the way i do.
