Organics is like set it and forget it for your herbs.

I have never grown 100% organic before, it is so much simpler than using bogus ass, big cost nutrients. I dig it.

I have all my plants being watered by 1gph drip emitters. I have drippers turn on three times a day for one minute each. I have learned that my soil likes to stay constantly damp/wet.

I used to let the soil dry out a little between watering but discovered that plants grew quicker and appeared healthier when I let the soil stay damp rather than letting it dry out between watering.

The best part of organics is all I have to do is water with plan water. No pH pens, no nutrient mixing, no ppm worrying. Its frankly fucking awesome! hahaha

I want to hone my technique and get my soil more "alive".

In nature there are no PH pens haha :)

As for watering your soil with pure water only all the time you would need to amend soil first. Amending soil is such an art, I can not wait to start learning it.
The quality of weed is much better aswell.

Look who it is, my scrog buddy! Good to see you around these parts!:smokeit:

I amended the crap out of the soil. I tried to get my hands on every possible amendment I could find. Lets see, blood, bone, alflafa, kelp, dry molasses, azomite, bat & seabird guano, EWC, compost, rice flower, myco spores, green sand, lime.

The plants love it but I just dont get the feeling it is really alive like when I read about other peoples organic soil. But it really does make my perpetual a whole hell of alot easier!

It's much easier than you expect IME, or I just got lucky. I came up with my own little recipe and I've never had such healthy plants before...a tea during transplant and a tea at the start of flower, other than that, WATER ONLY!

Benny, what really brought my soil to life was bringing leaf mold and partially-composted materials from my compost pile in from outside and mulching with it. Also adding worm castings from my bin with worms and cocoons. Now I've got critters everywhere. Some consider this a dangerous practice, but as long as things aren't too out of whack I don't think there's much reason to worry. And don't forget about the occasional AACT

mostnonymouse, nice read!
So how do you think are your yields like with those healthy plants? Would you call it sufficient?

same question to you Benny! How are your yields with amendments?

Can't yet say sir...I am a little over a month from harvest. I do like believing that there is a balance in my pots and that the plants are taking care of themselves, taking what they need and not what I feed. I think the worms in my mulch are more active and happy than the worms in my bin to be completely honest lol

ummm Im just tipping the 4oz a week mark. I expect 6+ a week once I get my soil dialed in and my veg spaced out a little better. My first blend of soil I think I went a little light on some key ingredient. Im about to get into my second batch in the coming week. It has been cooking for a month or a little longer and I think my next batch I will go even heavier on the amendments until my plants tell me other wise.

The chlorophyll of the plants is superior to anything I have ever grown. The plants are a dark lush green. Im loving it.

Thats what I want. I dont have the option to have a real compost pile. I rent and dont have a yard :frown:. I am moving soon and and will have a yard. I am so stoked to have the space to grow a veggy garden and build the top soil in it so I can use it in my indoor plants. I want to have the richest compost pile known to man!!!!:muahaha::joint:

I would not know what to do with 6 oz a week!

This organic stuff is superb, people literally crap them self when they smell it. Its nice being able to give someone a nice gift of awesome nugs that they cant otherwise get :). There is nothing better then unwrapping an Oz on your birthday!

Edit****
and by the way, your plant in your thread with the live mulch is absolutely beautiful. I dont know if I have ever seen such a happy plant! Awesome work and the LED makes it look almost mystical.

one thing about growing organic...it definitely turns you into a pot snob. It's kind of a bummer running out of your own bud mid-grow. At least in my area, it takes a bit of work to get my hands on anything I'd be happy to smoke.

hahaha that is so funny but so very true. When I get done doing maintenance on my garden I almost need to change into a new set of clothes because Ill reek like ganja for hours and people assume I have my pockets stuffed with it!

I cycled out my nutrient fed plants so at one point I had a row of organics and then a row synthetic nute feed plants. The difference in smell was freakin mind blowing! :rtfo:

You guys are on the ball man, good work kids. If you really want a living soil.....add compost, forest leaf litter, native soils....they will all bring life to your soil. After that it's all on auto pilot.
Oh yeah...always clean the bong for the best weed-snob bong hits. Shameless weed snob here, won't smoke chemy or crap. Does organic weed turn people into weed snobs?

Growing organically is good for your heart because the only worry you might have is your grow room catching on fire. The plants just grow themselves.

Yea, very nice way to grow, but I did have to ph my water to get things right. My water is over 8.4 ph and it does cause my plants to crap out if I do not lower it.

Here's what I plan to do for future grows after watching a really kewl video at YouTube.

I found one of these on Craigslist for $100.00

phototron.jpg

I plan to retrofit it with professional LED lights and of course I'll want to pick out a good 'nute program' - I'm thinking about going with either Advanced Nutrients or Dutch Master. Whichever is the most expensive and has the best art work on the labels.

Next up will be a nifty pH meter, DO meter, disfunction meter, datfunction meter, a jug of Floramite and some Eagle 20EW and I'll be in Dank City!!
