Yo check it out. Finished trimming last night. Handled my business today. Cleaned, ditched the trash, bleached the room, reset everything to flat style. No offense to all you successful vert growers. I will still be stopping in this forum because i think its fascinating but here is my project for the next few months.

22 different strains that i painstakingly have acquired over the last 9-10 months.

see you at the new thread

Yo Nata!
Great show anyway.. And good learning reference for all of us! :) Interested to see your flat garden bro!!

I got same kind of probs on the first vert.. Way too much fluffy buds in the plants.. Would have thought the light had penetrated better in the foliage. Now this time I trimmed way too much I think.. Too much empty spaces between buds when the fan leaves begin to drop off.. It takes more thinking and practising than flat I think.. :)

Good luck for the next grow and thanks for documenting this one from start to finish!!! :)

Peace Nukku

Sorry to hear about your luck, I just found this thread today and read it from beginning to end. Right from the start I could tell you were in for trouble because you tried to cram too many plants into that space. You should have had 4 maybe 5 plants in there in 5 gal buckets. You also trimmed back too late and wasted energy on growth you didn't use. Well hope you have better luck next time.

Just saw the thread, I liked your style, personally I would have cut lots of fan leaves blocking the light 1st week of 12/12 and it would open everything up a lot more and got them lower buds tighter. I saw some yellow and even brown leaves on the plant, keeping up with the removal helps a lot. Round 2!!
ps i mean cut a lot of leaves back, they can take it

lookin good man..
keep it up, and when your ready, try vert again.. i know ill give it a shot again..
its all in training.. with a horizontal grow you want to train the plants and prune whats not getting light(underside), same goes for a vertical grow but the useless popcorn will be on the backside of the plant.. you have to train if you expect high yields, doesnt matter where the light is..
i experienced this with my first time going vert.. got a bunch of popcorn and a few nice buds..
second time I had less plants and it worked well.. but you could run a good bit of plants and train for like 4 mains, lolipopped, side by side.. that would look nice :D

It's also difficult to do in a 4'x 4' tent. There isn't much extra space for the plant to grow into that is not getting high temps b/c of the lights radiant heat. I do believe (and have seen RedSpagetti's room) that with more space and proper training, vertical can still out yield flat.

One thing at a time ha ha. I am going coco next.

FYI - in case you are reading this b/c it was bumped, this grow actually was harvested abt a year ago and i am currently tinkering with flat gardens again. Relentless does make an excellent point that vert may warrant another attempt... Maybe vert coco trees?!?!?!

Hey keep us posted man. There actually is not alot of vert thread and results for us smaller tent growers. Thanks for sharing this info. Ive been debating the switch to vert, however, i have held off since there is little documented 4x4 vert grows that surpass the production of a horiz scrog.
