try lumatek bulbs. never had a problem with them and they are cheaper than hortilux.

ive ran 600w and 1000w lumatek bulbs for a while and they are great.

and they are about $60 cheaper than eye hortilux

Sunlight supply carries Ultra Sun brand lights, $61.95 for standard 1000w HPS (140k lumens). I'm not sure if its worth saving the money but I'm thinking about giving one a try.

i think its best to just stick to philips son-t pia greenpower lamps, i think those are the best. and maybe sylvania but they're also made by philips.

bought several a while ago, liked the different spectrum's.....

could NEVER get a good yield out of them, no matter what i did, but the plants looked good!

today i decided to replace them with new hortilux's and discovered this!

I never liked the SunPluse, and the owner is a major dic*. BTW, where did you find the spectrum (if you mean SPD) of the lamps? IIRC the owner was not sharing the SPDs.

SHIT!!! i have one of those as well! it runs sooooooo hot! all the plants that were under it are yellow....

just moved that digilux to another room , over perfectly healthy green plants to see if it will yellow up as well.....

I have found if I keep irradiance below ~900 umol/area^2/second, for the whole day (ex., up to 18 hrs), the plants don't yellow. But they do when irradiance is higher than that. The yellowing I think is from photoinbhtion (too much light) causing loss of Chl A and/or B, and other issues. I find I have to keep the Digilux higher than other lamps, for near the same irradiance.

I like the Digilux MH, right now I am using the HPS. I wish the MH had less green and more blue. I am going to test irradiance with my quantum sensor of the MH today vs the HPS. Last time I tested the difference was not large, but I didn't test with super-lumens mode for MH.

You can get a free replacement, no problem. Have you called up C.A.P?

I had an MH blow on me during a big storm, so I called and all they asked for was a photo of broken lamp/bulb as proof of purchase. They sent me a new 1000 watt MH Digilux the next day, free shipping.

^ same with LED, if you keep to close, they yellow up thinking you have a def going on, when it's to much light, and to intense that close

and this one is starting to do it!!! all three!!!!!

That is lame. Are you using air cooled hoods?

^^ there must be a reason why my favorite online hydro store only offers the 600 watt 6.4k sun pulse bulb and none of the other ones. I was thinking about using this for veg.

When you guys say Ushio's, do you mean the Ushio Hilux? I was thinking about using these with some new quantum ballast. Not sure if they work with magnetic ballast.

6.4Ks kill it in veg, they keep the node spacing tight.
