it's pretty sad when we have two liberal parties..

the only differences are meaningless wedge issues that aren't even federal issues(EG. abortion, gay marriage ect...)

neither party is conservative, or liberal. they are just power hungry corporations. they follow the rule of whatever makes them money, and gives them power.

i was watching somthing on the neo-cons on youtube, they follow the princable of a man named leon trotsky ,who was for a perfect communist worker state. it seems that its working out quite well,we will all be govt payed employees soon enough(no need to point out that most already are).
i dont know how relivant that is but it gives ya a good idea what they want this to look like.

As far as Neocons go. they are simply just the Nazi Party trying to regain power. They will twist the words of bible, our fore fathers, Trotsky, and whoever else they see fit. Their megalomaniac, sociopolitical, egos make them think they are the supreme leaders of man kind put there by god. In one term. Manifest Destiny.

Will Ron Paul and the Gold Standard Emerge the Winners Tonight?

When he takes the stage tonight in the GOP presidential debate (8 p.m. EST on CNN), Congressman Ron Paul will do so with a chance to make history.

Unlike his previous runs for President (1988 as a Libertarian candidate and 2008, where he was beaten by Senator John McCain), Paul enters this race as a serious candidate to take his ideas all the way to the White House. Some may quibble with calling Paul anything but a serious candidate in 2008; after all, he had a string of good showings and raised significant money. He also never broke through beyond his fervent supporters to attract the kind of broader support that can drive a candidate to the nomination.

However, 2012 is unlike 2008 in so many ways. In particular, Ron Paul's dismissed theories about the size and scope of government are suddenly...not so dismissed. Voters are rethinking his views on the bailouts, the size of government, the cost of government, and the benefits of spending trillions of borrowed dollars backed by nothing. Tea Party sentiment has bubbled over into outright antipathy toward government spending — and no one argues against government spending more consistently or coherently than Paul.

Paul's path to the 2012 nomination is still, in the eyes of many pundits, a long-shot. He does, however, have some things working in his favor this time around.

Un-serious Contenders All you need to know about the current GOP field is that Mitt Romney is currently the front runner. Mitt Romney is also the number one target of tea party activists and would represent the establishment choice for the Republicans. He also has a snowball's chance in hell of beating Obama in the general, in large part because he's taken many similar positions to Obama.

Number two is Sarah Palin, and she's a semi-literate reality tv show version of a candidate, and happens to be despised by more voters than she is beloved by supporters. That leaves Newt Gingrich, who has already seen most of his senior staff resign, and a few psychotic social conservatives.

Other than that, the only real contenders left are Texans: Rick Perry, who is George Bush's replacement as governor of Texas (and roughly on-par, intellectually) and Ron Paul, the congressman who has actually had a real job (he is a licensed physician) and has actually read the Constitution. Advantage? Paul.

Anti-government sentiment I don't like the term anti-government sentiment, because it's a bit loaded. I mean, Timothy McVeigh was called an anti-government extremist. Ron Paul is about as far away from McVeigh as you can get on the humanity scale. Nonetheless, it is somewhat accurate.

In today's political climate, voters who see the government as the problem are desperate to find a candidate to rally around. They've even formed a tea party caucus, with the intent of coalescing around one candidate and amplifying their voice in the primary election. However, Ron Paul is the only candidate in the race who really speaks to those voters. He may not always make religious conservatives happy with some of his libertarian stances, he will win some over with his limited government talk.

The Economy Sucks When the economy sucks, and right now it completely sucks, Main Street looks for a candidate with new ideas — something they haven't seen tried before. While it may be ironic that the oldest candidate is the one with new ideas, it is a matter of fact that Paul brings the most change to the table for his supporters.

The Gold Standard Long-debated as the answer to everything from inflation to the end of government largesse, the gold standard has been a libertarian talking point since...well, since they got rid of the gold standard. While many economists are against returning to the gold standard, some, including Paul, believe that eliminating some market disincentives against gold and silver would allow the marketplace to determine the truly best currency. Whether that is dollars backed by nothing or banknotes backed by literal gold would depend.

For the first time since the gold standard was done away with, it is making a serious comeback as a political theory. For traders, this could have huge effects on everything from commodities to forex trades. (Speculators of the world are probably not huge Ron Paul fans.) Will this be enough to give him the nomination? Tune in tonight and see how Paul and the other candidates fare in this early-season debate.

mitt romney looked like a confused owl, the others had nothing signifigant to raise except their own intrusive views.
i really hope the rest of the country dosnt find the other republicans arguments valid.
if anyone votes for that reject corprate tool romney, well i guess the rest of us deserve what comes next cause we didnt prevent it.

i heard RP killed shit on the debate...the news outlets are claiming hes still a "fringe" candidate but the comments sections on most online newspaper websites are predominantly supporting RP...

im convinced this system is rigged...the establishment DOESNT WANT RP!! they want one of these super conservative tea party idiots to take the bid and continue the partisan deadlock we have been in...

ive said it before and il say it again...RP will split the dem vote crucially....many dems are tired of obama and the super progressives, but they will never vote for romney or any of the other right wing cronies....

repubs will vote for RP over obama 100% anyways...they could put bachman up there and still vote RP....they got to split the obama vote, why are the repubs so stubborn, its obvious their attempting to "sell" romney but its NOT GONNA WORK!! last thing we need is a conservative right winger who will continute the drug war and police state...we need RP in this bitch asap.

im gonna get a bunch of labels printed and start bombing my local bus system with them..take a few days off and just walk around the city putting up RON PAUL stickers everywhere....we gotta wake the dems up, if he shows good results in democratic states he will most definately get in..

Romney is such a fake plastic piece of garbage. Hate that dude. He can't even move his face. Everything about him just screams phony to me.

Most all of them have mastered the art of moving their lips and making sounds without actually saying anything. They're all just avoiding the questions while keeping a straight face and trying to keep their body language congruent with the bullshit they're saying. You can tell they've trained on specific talking points that they'll make regardless of whether or not it has anything to do with the question they are asked. I swear politicians are simply actors who recite lines, have some basic knowledge on current world affairs and are able to improvise with bullshit when put into a corner.

Ron Paul on the other hand has a grasp on what's actually going on, and will say what he really thinks. Everyone is sick of all the lies that's why there's so many positive comments towards him. He's real. Here is someone who is not afraid to talk about the real issues we are facing. The only one I might actually be able to trust. The rest will follow their masters that got them this far.

i am a vehement Dr. Paul supporter however, last night he did himself a disservice.
a 30 second response is not the place to educate the sheep on the federal reserve.
you have to dumb it down during the primary. this is politics after all. the place for the talk of federal reserve fraud is when sitting across from the sitting president during a debate.
weirdly herman cain got alot of applause after several answers.

i hope Dr. Paul's people can get him on track(no that he is wrong in any way, just flying way over the heads of the sheep)

Harmlessly passing your time in the grasslands away
Only dimly aware of a certan unease in the air
You better watch out

Things are not what they seem

What do you get for pretending the danger's not real
Meek and obedient you follow the leader
Down well trodden corridors into the valley of steel
What a suprise!
A look of terminal shock in your eyes
Now things are really what they seem
No, this is not a bad dream

Your Floyd quote is appropriate. We are sheep. Even still, if there is any hope for America, it's all stocked in Dr. Paul. There is no other way of winning back 1/3 of our federal government in one fell swoop!

So just contacted my local Republican office, and as a registered Libertarian I would not be able to vote in the Primary.
So any Libertarians that want to vote for RP in the Primary need to register as a Republican 30+ days prior to the Primary.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republican_Party_%28United_States%29_presidential_primaries,_2012#Guidelines_for_primary_and_caucus_dates

I still urge all you to contact your local Republican party and inquire, perhaps there is a chance that the Pubs will start to open their eyes about their relatives.

Ron Paul got the most enthusiastic responses from the audience.
They were applauding everything he said, as the moderator tried to silence them. He is the only candidate that generates enthusiasm, he is honest to a fault, and for this reason he will probably not get elected. Also his age will be a factor especially among young voters. However, that stuffed shirt Mitt Romney makes me nauseous. Ron Paul is obviously the man.
He has integrity and common sense, and those do not seem to be the qualities that get people elected in this country.
It's a shame really. How do you beat big money politicians, and the big businesses they shill for?

i told some friends a month ago that the republican leaning news outlets would rarely mention Rep. Ron Paul and neither would the democratic leaning ones but for different reasons.

Republicans fear and dislike how he wants to give the States their rights back.

Democrats fear that he has the greatest chance of pulling I and D voters, enough to oust Obama.

Ron Paul wins RLC straw poll.

Don't know how much this means, but he won:

"NEW ORLEANS — As has become typical at GOP cattle calls, Ron Paul captured the presidential straw poll at the Republican Leadership Conference here, easily besting his nearest competitor, Jon Huntsman.

Paul won 612 votes to Huntsman's 382. Michele Bachmann came in third with 191 votes and Herman Cain finished behind her, taking 104 votes.

Paul was edged by one vote at this same event last year, but this straw poll success has become de rigeur at such gatherings. And, just as they have at recent CPACs, Paul's backers in the crowd here let out loud cheers when the results were announced from the stage while the regular Republicans in the audience booed the Libertarian-leaning Texas congressman's success.

The more notable result was Huntsman's second place. The former ambassador was slated to speak to the confab, but backed out, citing a cold. That the little-known and pragmatic Huntsman would finish between Paul and Bachmann — each of whom enjoy a passionate following among more ideological activists — is surprising.

Rumors circulated here that Huntsman campaign had paid for supporters to attend the conference and a spokesman for the candidate, Tim MIller, didn't deny that they had.

"Not commenting on internal strategy," said Miller, adding: "The result demonstrates that young conservatives are responding to his record of success in Utah, willingness to take the debt problem seriously, and foreign policy message,"

The GOP's effective frontrunner Mitt Romney narrowly defeated Paul here last year but got only 74 votes this time. Romney didn't show up this year. Neither did Tim Pawlenty, who won just 18 votes.

Ron Paul: Federal Reserve's Addiction-There is a video at this link:
http://www.thestreet.com/story/11156404/1/ron-paul-federal-reserves-addiction.html#ixzz1PjVl7s5d

"The Federal Reserve is like a drug addict, according to presidential candidate and Congressman Ron Paul, notorious for his hatred of the Fed and love of gold.
In a recent interview with TheStreet, Dr. Paul likened the Fed to a drug addict unable to stop printing money as no one wanted to go through the pain of withdrawl. The libertarian Congressman, however, believes that Congress will raise the debt ceiling before August 2nd despite that fact that the U.S. is more than $14 trillion in debt, with $275 billion of interest payments due in 2011 alone, according to TreasuryDirect.gov.
According to Erik Oja, U.S. banks analyst at Standard & Poor's Equity Research, the Federal Reserve has committed, not necessarily spent, $14 trillion through its two rounds of quantitative easing programs, plus TARP and TALF, life lines for the financial system during the recession. Banks are holding excess reserves of $1.55 trillion and including their required reserves, their lending capacity is more than $1.58 trillion. As a result, if that money is loaned out then potential inflation is much higher than what is reported currently.

The Consumer Price Index for May rose 3.6%, which is substantially down from the 5.6% level seen in 2008, and specific areas of the economy are not seeing big increases. Housing prices are up just 1.2% year over year, wages rose just 0.3% in May, while apparel prices have climbed just 1%, leading many experts to believe, despite high food and energy prices, that inflation is in check.

Economists would refer to the types of inflation as cost pull versus cost push. Cost pull refers to the second round effects of inflation, like higher wages, when inflation really seeps into the economy, versus cost push which describes an inflation due solely to high commodity prices, which have resulted from high demand, and from which, there is no escape.

Dr. Paul doesn't believe in any of those theories but argues "that's the way inflation works. Inflation is the increase in the supply of money. Sometimes it pushes some prices up and other prices can drop. So for a while it was the inflation that pushed housing prices up too high and then there is a collapse ... Where there are more market forces like in computers and technology those prices actually can drop in the midst of inflation."

Dr. Paul sees inflation now in food and services but believes it will feed into the labor market imminently. Big-time price inflation will be the next shoe to drop for the U.S. economy, he says, as the Fed stays rooted in its money-printing-addiction. The result would be a "downturn much worse than the stagflation of the 70's."

The way to fix this financial disaster is to stop spending money and go back on a gold standard. Dr. Paul reveals the logistics of how to do this in his next one-on-one with TheStreet.
