Best Nutes for RDWC ? Sterile system

I'm using House and Garden AB + silica blast in Veg and Canna Aqua AB, Silica, AN BB & overdrive. I'm using downunder to keep it sterile which is working out great so far. I'm on my first flowering cycle and the plants seem to love it and nutes work well with tap water, mine comes out at 170 ppm on the 500 scale.

I mostly jumped on Canna because my shop decided to stop carrying them and gave me half off on a 20L and 5L ab. I wouldn't run the H&G in flower though since they haven't released a flowering line here.

After I'm out of what I'm running though I'm going to attempt just running Jacks hydro powder to see how it compares. I think that it'll work great in a sterile veg system since you aren't running any enzymes or anything that you'll just be wasting your money on. I do plan however to try running all organic in flower though to compare the smoke. I have two systems and I think that only running organic in flower will be much easier to maintain since your plants are only in the water for 60 days allowing you fully clean out the system more often and drop fresh plants in before any issues takes hold. I'm not naive though and I'm sure that the transition will have its hiccups.

So whats up with ionic? Why are you looking to make a switch?

I use the Technaflora lineup, though I don't see anyone else using it DWC, or really at all for that matter.

Been working great for me for about a year now, veg and bloom. I use the full lineup in the recipe for success except Root 66 and I don't foliar feed.

It has organic additives though, like the B1-red. I run no chiller, in the summer sometimes temps are up to 72 in the water.. no issues ever. When I lift the lid the root zone honestly smells like you might wanna eat it, sweet and delicious, no dirty smell or pond stank at all. I love this stuff.. I watch people having trouble needing bennies or sterile.. I just sit back and let it rock and roll, even throwing shitloads of sugardaddy in the last few weeks which some my advice against, since adding sugar can cause a bad outbreak of nasties, but I've never seen anything like that.

I'm not sure what it is in the lineup that's keeping things running so smoothly, all I know is I'm not gonna change anything. I use tap water, cause it comes out at a PH of 6.0, nearly perfect, and my well is much higher, 7.8 PH or so, but the city water isn't piped into the house, gotta go down to the street to turn it on, so I end up leaving it in some plastic totes with a little bubbler for 2 weeks sometimes, right in the grow room without any light proofing.. then I use that water in my res... I can't believe I have no problems when I see how anal other people are about everything and still have issues.. I dunno if it's even the Nutes or maybe my setup just has amazing D.O., but like I said before.. All I know is I'm not changing a thing!

I say Use what you want pure blend gh what ever but keep the system sterile and cool by using a incline uvc light ... and you will have less issues ....

Good Question... I'm curious to hear other people's experience/recommendations.

I ran a sterile 600w, 4'x4', Ebb/Flow SOG for better than six runs with awesome results: I copied "stoney 419's" method from one of his older SOG threads using DM gold line at 3/4 strength; only difference was I flooded fifteen minutes every hour the lights were on. Also worked well with some Rockwool blocks a friend had me try.(Because he couldn't get them to dry-out between watering fast enough) :)

To this day, I have not produced the kind of dense nugs this system gave me :-( I switched to that system after only two soil grows and had little knowledge. Looking back, I think using the complete Dutch Master Gold line without foliar was the key to my always successful crops in 5.5"sq. pots w/hydroton running 4 plants per foot. (I really miss that) Especially the DM Zone; I always had bright white roots. A mentor of mine commented that he never saw roots that white, which made me feel good :)

Once I switched to coco and started wasting my money on living nutes was when I started having some minor issues consistently growing AAA herb. In the end, I was trying to grow way too many varieties from seed at once with a coco specific nute...Expensive lesson!!
Too make a long story endless, I have been using General Hydro's Flora Micro(@6ml/gal.)+Bloom(@9ml/gal.)(Head/Rez formula) for the past year on a couple Coco-drain to waste rooms running over a dozen different strains with good results... To be honest, I add several supplements as needed to the above bases: HG-Roots Excel and Drip Clean, GH-Diamon Nectar or better, Silica, Epsom Salt pre-diluted in water at 1gram/ml. Also, several strains required tweaks to the above recipe, but flexibility is the beauty of GH Flora series I think. Right now, I have been experimenting with another user's(Spurr) GH recipe ,using Grow...

I'm not sure if GH is less expensive than DM Gold at 3/4 strength??? Maybe GH Flora w 1ml/gal. DM Zone? DM Gold may be better/cheaper than GH with the additives I use?

hope that was useful
