Our little BHO thread

Hello all! We made our first batch of BHO about 5 months ago, and since then we have been HOOKED! We had some pretty horrid runs at first, with small amounts and questionable finished product, but now that we are starting to understand the mechanics of it, we have been getting some pretty decent yields and the smoke is pure!

We have only fully documented a couple of runs so far, but from now on whenever we do a run that we have particularly high hopes for we will document it and post it! I know there are a lot of threads about BHO it is our belief that there is NO SUCH THING as too many! lol....here are a few pics of one of our past runs; the process and the end product! If any of you have something you want to show off, by all means, do it!

^^^ that is Budder. When yo heat and stir it turns the BHO into budder. Its still very good its just not oil anymore.

which is better then budda or bho, i like my quiso i find i tend to leave a nasty taste in my bho, ive not perfected the technique enough to get decent yields of bho either, with quiso its so much easier and i can get a better product, but saying that to each his own you say youve dialed in your method and your product looks pukka.

does any1 know if you can turn quiso into budda?

To us, budder IS bho, just a different consistency. Our finished product tends to vary between a taffy (NOT sticky) and a very dry rock-like form that breaks into a powder. We don't really mind the different consistencies; we basically heat purge on very low heat until it tastes clean. We find the more oily stuff still has a lot of butane taste and bubbles up when we burn it on our nail, so we always end up purging it into a more waxy type of bho.

Our yields now are definitely more than they used to be, but still, using only buds and sugar trim, we get between 1-4 grams per 10.5 oz can, whether we use our small 10g tube or our larger 1 oz tube. We usually run 3 or 4 small tubes for 1 can and 1 full can for our larger tube. Still haven't really figured out why some runs are so much more than others....anyone know? We guess it has something to do with the thc content of the material we use.

So, since we are speaking about consistency, here are some pics of all the different types we have made. Some were purged longer than others but all had a very nice smooth taste.

Thanks for sharing your tasty lookin treats DaDaDo !

Nice little presentation shots too, made my mouth water. If you could managed some high res camera or macro images, you'd really give an opportunity to critique as much as to also appreciate your finish. I know "I'd" enjoy it....

I just luvs da B H O

nice thread. great lookin work.

i made a bunch of bho years ago and it was real nice, but am gearing up to give it another go now that i know alittle bit more about oil.

i prefer hexane as a solvent along with ethanol, but im gona give the bho another try, hopefully it will turn out as well as yours.

thank you for sharing!

As always, thanks guys! We actually did another run today, of the sugar trim from our recently cut UK Cheese clone. We didn't have quite enough for a full tube, so we chose from some of our older harvest and picked the buds we didn't mind sacrificing! So this run was a mix of UK Cheese and a Chem D/Bubba cross. It buddered up in the end but man, it ended up looking like cheese crumbles and smells and tastes like grapefruit! VERY nice!

We bought them both on ebay....just type in bho extraction tubes and you should find them! The bigger sizes are a bit pricey but they are fully functional and ready to use, and saves the trouble of having to rig anything up yourself. I'd HIGHLY recommend one!

Nice Thread!!!

whats your butane to Bud ratio??
how long do you keep it on the coffee warmer?

Thanks for stopping by Gm421:thank you:! After a lot of practice and a lot of butane we are now achieving a 20% return on our runs. It always depends on the quality of the material for the return but usually gets around that.
We do about 4 hot water purges before the "errl" is moved into the mug warmer. Once in the mug warmer we heat the oil until either the butane has been completely purged out or the desired consistency has been reached. This can take any where from 3 to 5 minutes depending on various factors such as batch size, dish thickness, ext.. We usually heat then cool to avoid over heating the oil. This is another part of the proses which took a lot of practice :artist:. So don't be discouraged if it does not turn out right the first couple of times.
