Boys do NOT learn in a "sit down and shut up", classroom environment...that's how girls learn. Boys are visual, hands on...that's how WE learn. Unfortunately, it's not as quiet and orderly...

I, too, do think we need meny different styles of teaching... but sex is not the dividing line. Many boys are quiet and learn by reading and many girls are very active. It's just the society which labels boys as active and girls as passive, affecting our perception.

You're hung up on the details...many is not the same as most.

We're all a whole bunch of "bell curves", as individuals we fall somewhere different on each statistical bell curve. For agression I may be near the right, more agressive than you or someone else. Though on a "thoughtful of others feelings" bell curve, I'm far more to the left than you. Boys tend to be far to the left when it comes to "ability to sit quietly and study" while the girls are far to the right.

There are always the outliers...those who go against their peers. Like the star girl athlete who can actually compete with the boys...high school level at least. Pacifist men... That sort of thing.

Actually...if you want to get technical...we each learn our own way and individual teaching would be best. It's coming...with the internet, computer graphics, 3D, we could each get individualized instruction within 10 years.

Could you imagine individualized, 3D, always up to date, instruction? In 4 hours you could easily accomplish more than a full day at school. Then out to play with the neighborhood kids for the rest of the afternoon. Unless you hadn't mastered today's lesson.

If anyone has Netflix, they have a bunch of on-demand documentaries.

I suggest watching films about water shortages as we'll probably run out of water before oil. Blue Gold World Water Wars was good, Flow for the Love of Water, was good too.

Was watching a documentary about how people abuse pets never got the title.

Made many tears come to my eyes, I brought my puppy with me to live with unc and some drunken asshole shot him. Could see straight through his body, and I will never forget unc going to his house and breaking his jaw with one punch.

Current TV is running a series called Fifty Documentaries you need to see or something like that. The one about weed was good so far they have been very interesting. The one about kids smoking cigarettes in Indonesia was an eye opener, show where the american tobacco companies are making a killing literally by selling cigs to kids as young as 5 and six. Makes the tobacco companies look like the assholes they are. anyway there's two for yu.
