I'm very excited to visit and will be staying a week in "the pipe" district (hope I got that right). Just a block or so from Papillon coffee shop. I will visit Papillon. Unfortunately I will be with those who do not indulge so I will be limited to only one visit to Papillon.
I need access to a computer with internet for 15 minutes or so on a Sunday during this trip. Is there anywhere I can get access to a computer in this part of town?

Thanks for any help

Dutch,

Thanks for the link. I had mistakenly thought De Pijp Translated to The Pipe. I tried to learn a few basic phrases in Dutch, alas it has not gone well...lol. It seems I am able to do better with Latin based as most of the US is now half spanish based. One cant help but pick up a little of that through osmosis. Amsterdam looks amazing. I know I wont want to come back to the US. The US I fear is headed for the toilet. Dirty and broken. The Difference is amazing when you drive up to Vancouver and see how clean it is compared to the US.

Anyway thanks again for the info.

Back from 10 days in Amsterdam. Couldn't have been nicer. To the Dutch people, Thanks for your graciousness. I could not have had a better time. Did a quiet neighborhood coffee shop. It was great. Drank fantastic bier and saw many towns during my visit. Hope to return next year.

Where did you stay? I'm looking for a hostel/hotel for 400-500 euro for 5 days. Anyone have any ideas. Glad to hear you had fun, I will be there in August.

LEBNIIS,
We had an apartment. There were four of us it was 1600-1800 for 9 nights I think. I would look on craigslist you can find some good deals there.

DR DANK,
The US isnt what it used to be, to me anyway. Im older so I miss "the way things used to be". just love the Dutch philosophy I guess, it seems a little like it used to be here.

Any ideas of what my friend and I could do? Night clubs etc. im doing research, but figure your experience may be helpful.

Is it true, my local news says legislature has passed the ban on tourists buying herb.

Lebniis,
Sorry bout the delay in getting back to you. I was with a bunch of buzzkills. I was unable to get to any clubs. Only made it to Papillon coffeeshop. There is so much goin on in the dam. You will never be bored. Hit a cool coffee shop that appeals to you and ask around for a club everyone is very nice.
As of now you can still hit the coffee shops. supposedly all that will begin to change around the end of the year. I gather it will be a rolling shut off for non residents starting in southern Holland and moving north over the course of a year. Holland is imho one of the last cool places on earth. take in as much as you can and have a great time cause its all changing.

Shit, lets see. Went to the beach. Went to the van gogh museum, went to leiden saw a windmill and more importantly drank beer on a barge in the canal, went to Edam, Went to Brussels, Went to the red light dist bout 40 times. That whole part of town is really cool. Bakery shops, coffee shops, bondage shops, just all sorts of stuff mixed together. Would have liked to go Harlem. We stayed in Amsterdam and did day trips when we left town.
By the way when are ya goin?
