After Elevators mans description can't wait to try the Goldfinger, Malawi Gold is some of the nicest smoke I've come across but never grown it due to its long flowering time the Flo brings it down to 11 weeks.

Hey Doc, got 2 cuts of goldfinger in veg now, good to knbow you rate it highly, the clone fairy said this and purple kush were his personal favourites.

Could you let me know how the stretch is in flower? Should i stick them straight into flower as cuttings just potted up, or do they need to be vegged bigger? I was thinking of sticking them into flower after a few days veg, and ending up with a 2-3 foot plant. Does that sound about right? And one more question, ive never smoked malawi gold or flo. What is the aroma of the plant?

Also, just let us know if you fancy it again, i will be taking cuttings of all the cuts i was given, and handing them to the fairy, so just let me know. All the best. Solid.

Theres a good thread on Goldfinger with pictures and smoke report its meant to smell of carrots mixed with a complex array of other smells. Also meant to have a really good bud to leaf ratio hardly any trimming.

Yea i posted in the goldfinger thread asking the same thing. Couldnt find anything about stretch in there, though i didnt look at every single page. I'll have another nosy, and if i cant find any info, i'll just wing it, and stick one into flower in a day or so and see how it flowers. I'll know exactly what to do with the second one then after a week or 2.

Goldfinger grows nice long branches,,, so we'd give it a few weeks veg. before dropping into 12/12 so the nodes can develop and branch out.

i'm interested to see how you get on flowering all year round , where you based ? (country) is it worth trying this method in the uk ? . i've got loads of stuff to be doing but now with limited space so if i could utilise outdoors it would be a great help

These plants were placed into 12/12 darkness at night and glasshouse in day in spring from seed. UK bred

Most varieties respond to force-flowered from 1st April to 1st Sept under glass ok. Any earlier or later into 12/12 and they are normally too cold and grow slower (so we normally only flower out small clones then).
With added heating the season can be extended a few weeks either side. But light deprivation in winter is still the main issue.

For some reason, we find the sativa prefer being force flowered under glass from late Spring into Summer,, but most indica like to be forced from late Summer into Autumn. Yield simply depends on the number of days veg (and any training) before dropping them into 12/12. Reducing watering and the roof helps prevent any grey-mold... but it can still be an issue in early winter with indica.

Otherwise everything in this method is free... and its a great way of testing the potential of indoor genetics.
