hey AG im with Maina on the crazy thing!!! lol looks to be a great season. i was planning on running around 50 25-100 gallon hoops myself but damn thats alot of dirt lugging for one guy. im STICKING TO 12 25 and 3 100 gallon hoops this year. and of course plenty of dug holes i wish you the best bro! -bluebuds
people seriously underestimate the amount of time, sweat, and physical labor it takes to fill up and maintain 50 200 gal smartpots lol, i know aero's got some help and ATVs to lug that soil around.... but im doing 18 200s with a partner and its taking a toll!
thats why i stopped at 50 anymore and i think i would have died prepping them. No fourwheelers. just good old blood and sweat. I counted 142 bails that i carried myself over a 1/4mile-1/2 mile each walk. dude i could tear down a brick wall with my bare hands right now lol
my helpers are the 1s to thank. they moved 2200lbs of wormcasting in 4hours anywhere from 50-100lbs per smartpot. fuckin animals. i came back thinking they would be half done or so... nope allll done.
feels really good to have everything in the ground. and it feels even better to see it rain for the next 3 days. give the roots a good chance to spread out before the sun really heats up
i will be installing first trellis layer in the next 2 weeks. Ive already began training the fuckers not going to let them get much over 6ft tall plan is to bush them out i want 20' long bushes
I hear you Aero, I got roundabouts 60-70 outside right now (haven't even done a final count) and did every bit of the work myself including clearing virgin plots for every plant. Luckily, I have phenomenal soil out here and didn't need to haul a whole lot in. Good Luck
I hear ya, I really wish summer would get here too...we havn't seen the sun in around 3 weeks and my plants are barely growing right now, even though I planted earlier this years I'm not seeing the same kind of growth at all.
Aeroguerilla, as my first post in about 5 years on ICMAG, I really want to give you props. You really give me inspiration being on the east coast. You got me thinking on a new level for 2012. I can't wait to see how you do this year!
I had a question. You said you don't have to water them by placing them in areas where your feet are a couple inches in the water. I'n that picture it doesn't look like it's in sitting water. Will it become flooded as summer goes on or something?
