Female preflowers on a male plant

Got fooled by some female preflowers on a plant that turned out to be male. It was a Double Strawberry Diesel, a strain I like very much, and I would like to use the pollen, but I have held off as I figured it might introduce hermaphroditic tendencies. But, since I did save it in the fridge just in case, what would be the likely outcome? Downsides, upsides? Maybe a higher tendency towards female offspring?

Well its certainly a herm but the resulting progeny may be ok. I made some DSD s1's that have proven to grow excellent female plants without herm tendencies beyond what diesels already have. (some late nanners toward the very end of flower)
I have had a DJ Short F13 plant go from female to full on male before too. Oddly enough, the only freaks that have cresulted from the F13 going male and pollinating a few moms were with DSD plants from seed fathered by that F13. All have been unusable mutants. However some of the plants, Willie WOnder x F13 freakmale resulted in one of the best smelling plants I've grown.
I would go ahead and pain a bit of pollen on the mom(s) you want to hit and see how the resulting progeny turn out.

I read in a DJ short book that this is a good sign off potency in a male and should be saved for breeding. I dont belive it is a true herm as the male only careys the X chromesome.

The same thing happened to me, I have a male autoflowering blue streak, started with strange female flowers blooming, but now it is completely male, then you think it's a good idea to pollinate a female plant with this pollen?

my plant started full male then put out pistils and pollinated itself and made 3 seeds anyone heard of this?
just had this happen with 2 male sour bubble plants. one plant has like 6 seeds and the other a whole bunch. should be fun to see what happens with the seeds. pics in my sour bubble album listed as m

I had a NDB last year that started with female preflower
when real flower started, she first threw out balls, 2 at every internode(1 on each side)
or maybe it was 4 at every internode
anyway, a lot like the position of preflowers
I feared the worst, but after removal there never came any more male flowers and harvested like any regular female

We thought this was a fairly healthy male until the pistils sprouted.

Had never seen this phenomenon previously, and had never read the piece by D.J. Short that mentioned it. It makes a bit of sense now, since this plant was a gifted F-1 cross that combined "Jackie-O" with a D.J. strain, "Old Time Moonshine".

It was composted shortly after the picture was taken.

So this Nepali I'm growing from seed has shown preflowers (about a week ago), looked all female. Even now it has pistils at every node, but at this one node it has balls too. They just popped out the other day, and it's only this node.
