Imagining a world without money

G

Don't u see, most "jobs" that people do are just jobs which really do not produce anything useful---they are all working to transfer money, an illusion, to themselves... Human energy is being wasted on tasks that do not move us forward. Progress is stagnated by the fact that progress would mean financial trouble for this or that interest. Americans waste enough food to feed an entire African country. We humans have the ability to colonize and build a city on the moon right now, we have the knowledge and resources but not the money. THink of all the great minds which went to waste because they were born in a poor village in some remote corner of the EArth...the next Einstein or Ben Franklin. The order of things must be changed, it is a fundamental paradigm shift that would involve a monumental change in the way we interact with one another. Think of how free you would feel if you weren't held down by the constraints of needing money and where you will get it. Instead of working a meaningless job human energy can be refocused to propel our existence beyond our wildest dreams.

the new currency will be pussy and the women will take over

Actually...they've been running things since the 60s...time for them to give it up and let the men take over! We've been feminized for too long.

So what do you suggest? Seriously...what do you suggest? Planet wide welfare? An American standard of living for everyone? Or their standard of living for us?

Yes...most of our "jobs" are worthless...what ELSE are women supposed to do? What ELSE are the uneducated supposed to do? Token jobs...for token people.

"We have the ability to colonize the moon"??? Our wonderful...delusional...education system strikes again. No...we DON'T have the ability to colonize the moon. Money is the LEAST of the problems.

Think about all the poor people born in those villages that will do nothing their entire lives but be a burden. I think they outnumber the POTENTIAL Einsteins by a billion to one. I've yet to see ANYTHING truly great come from any of the 3rd world countries. I think there is an underlying reason WHY they're so poor...but it's politically incorrect to mention the reason. I just don't think they have the potential to be anything more than a grub digger.

I think if you took a new born "bush baby", a baby from an African tribe, or a South American tribe, or even a tribe in Borneo...along with an American or European baby...and threw then ALL into a modern family, raised the same, going to the same schools, the tribal children wouldn't amount to much. We see it in the real world all the time. Yet we refuse to see/admit the truth of it. You have to have something to start with...and I don't think "they" come equipped for modern societies.

Go ahead...junk me...I know it's coming... But years and years of looking at the world tell me it's the truth. I've seen, read about "bush people" trying to live in the modern world...it NEVER works...NEVER. People from different places are different in their ability to cope with modern society. It's a fact that we're always trying to deny and fight. Because it's "not fair"?

can we go back to seashells as currency or maybe beads lol
rotflmfao omfg.i love you dude you so boosted my high with that.:tiphat:wtf this tread bout...,money is never going any where.think about it this way a silver coin (pure) is money and a mineral, and a means of conductin electricity.can be transformed into a heath product.has anti microbial properties.ect.:ying:feel me.the money isent the problem.it socialogical perversion of the human perspective.i do agree with you in the sence of a need 2 shift perspectives.there is only 2 ways i know of.1.a scheme of human and non human nature.and
DIVINE/cosmic/astrological OCCURRENCE.shit seems in these times we have ALL of the above.:tiphat:.p.s.ameros will be in mineral form.so only 3 people can hold the ''money''.instead of today where dozens of bank are holding the same ''money'' or debt/slaves.peace

Idealists tend to often have the worst of solutions. The main reason for this IMO is due to the fact that reality trumps ideals, no matter how valid or laudable an idea may be. From what I have experienced, folks that rely on idea's of how things should be/could be better often feel that their vision is the only one that makes sense.

Yes, John...I can imagine the things you and Yoko sat around and pondered. And when I place reality into the mix, I see a world that is regressed instead of a progression.
*(as a side...I have always found it funny that those who subscribe to the nirvana type fantasies often consider themselves to have "progressive" natures and thoughts..)

The bottom line is not money. Money is but a created object of convenience as stated previously.
The very bottom line is that man (ok woman too get a grip) has a free will. And it is a fact that each and every one of us is an individual that is unique to each and every other human.
Unique individuals with free wills do not share the same ambitions and goals, be it in everyday affairs or long term plans.
How are we supposed to exist as equals when we are far from that?
We simply can't.

See, I have far more drive than you do. I am ambitious and I want to use every bit of my thinking and drive to create things. Be it material creations or ideas...I am a driven creator. You on the other hand are a bit less. You are satisfied with not doing too much thinking, nor do you really want to go out of your way to exert much energy doing things. Bag of chips for the TV shows, and the bills just being paid makes you happy. That far from brings joy to me.
I want more. And, funny thing....there is opportunity for me to do more. Not that I care if you do less...that is fine too, until of course your sloth meshes into my world and hinders my path.
I mean, you don't want me forcing you to get off the couch and go mow a few lawns...that's bullshit and I aint gonna make you do that no matter how bad I want to. And I don't want you making me sit there eating lard covered crisps whilst watching Bohemian's Got Talent when I have other things to do.
WAIT...maybe I am the couch locked sloth and you are the motivated one? OK have it your way. Works the very same..dun ya thin???

Those of you who think you are a member of the thinking class...you know critical thinkers and all who subscribe to Karl et al....try thinking a bit deeper. The nirvana you envision is a flawed model. It can't work. History has shown us time and time again it simply doesn't fit the human model and won't work.

Imagining a world without money is easy. It is the very same world we live in now. -Only regressed back to sticks and stones, blood and bones.

BlueGrassToker,

Nice post...agree. I'll add..."Equality" and quotas are what killed us.

Also...that guy on the couch...well, there are several million of them who DON'T want to do ANYTHING. They want someone else to supply the HOUSE, the COUCH, the TV, and the CHIPS! And the electricity to run it. For FREE...because as an American...they have a RIGHT to those things!

Money is just a store of value.

There will always be some sort of barter system within a society.

Mankind has bartered since the dawn of time, and will continue to.

Money disguises the fact that some people add no value to society. Get rid of money and all of the sudden people will realize that most of the worlds wealthy people are actually a waste of space, not to mention leeches who have gotten rich off exploiting the hard work of others.

Most people cant imagine a world with some type of currency. These are the same people that need some type of recognition when they are doing a good job. Currency is one of the eldest systems of control. Its designed to seperated those with and those with out a system so elaborated most dont even know theres slaves to it.Currency gives a false since of self worth. Essentially it dehuminizes you, because some are able to kill to acqure more currency. Now imagine a world with out a heirarichal system of control. You can't.

money is only used as a bartering tool

only someone messed up the system with fake money and printing of money and money on computer screens that don't exist.. also set standards by people who control the money....... yes money is not really setup fairly and the system is flawed, but it works for the most part in this short term conversation....

take away money and you will have people trading as it's always been, 20 pot seeds for 2 chickens? 10 oranges for 1 chicken?

it not money that's "evil" , it's the ones using it..

I'm all for people getting along and shit like that, but money is not gonna change a thing when it comes to trying to make a "peaceful world".

Money empowers the slave system. It perpetuats that you need to survive so you need to have money. All of this is by design. By taking hold of all the Earth's rescources they are then able to force you into slavery to survive. That means a job or carrer that only few small percent are actually passionate for and love. Everyone else is forcerd into job/carrer to just survive. The slave system dictates that you need to work 40hr or more per week to survive. You then take monetarty payment for your work. Remember they force you to survive and spend on rescorces that should be availble to all for free. You first pay for a house to live in. Then you must pay for electricty for said house. Then you must have some food to eat. Then you need luxuries such as a car to reach your slave job location. You must also pay for clothing because thats what society dictates. The system has forced one to live simply for just surviving, the very most basic instinct of man.The stakes are even higher if children are involved, because you HAVE to provide for the children. The type r-complex of the brain they force us to live through lacks empathy. When survival is in question theres no question on what you have to do, its you or them. I thought we were a highly evolved species compared to our ancestors. It seems as if we are no better than them. Take away the modern creature comforts of today, and at the core all were doing is just surviving, and the monetary system continues to help provide that trap, as long as a few control the many.

There will always be those who control and those who are controlled...it's human nature...leaders and followers. Money CAN control you...but it doesn't have to. It's up to you.

Without money...you'd have to do/make EVERYTHING you had...of you'd have to find someone LOCAL to do it for you. Without money you wouldn't have a car, internet, TV, most of your food, ALL of your toys...etc.

I'd rather "just survive" with a monetary system...then "live" with JUST what I can get locally...and in season.

Think carefully about what you wish for...I have a feeling you just may get it!

look around when you are driving down the freeway. each of us in our own little box driving down the road doing our own things we say. american cultural at present time is vigilantly independent. we compete with our neighbors instead of working together. we go to work and think we are all just doing our thing but these jobs often separate you from your community. instead of everyone of your neighbors doing well and eating equally. some are unemployed while others will work and be able to provide. most people don't even know their neighbors in the suburbs. its a strange culture. seems like it would make more sense if neighborhoods worked together, grew their own foods, found a way to generate group income so everyone can have the pie and eat it too.

on the flip side, humans are greedy, independent and can be very "me" oriented. if everyone has something like a car, it becomes less cool because its not as rare or harder to attain. some may feel that if you want to work harder you should be able to have more, makes sense. they don't want to have to share their toys or land or money and resources. not pointing the finger and saying shame, thats what the idea of this country/system is. individualism to its extremes. its just one of many systems being tested humans can operate in many different systems. so far it works. it weeds out the weak, makes people strive for innovation and to work harder.

Two words. motivation$$. incentive$$. okay. people work harder because if they do in this country you can be rewarded quite well. and you can have more than your neighbor. money = more freedom. freedom to buy, things, people, power, land ect. with the country being the giant theme park that it is. cash is king and people are addicted to the drug of money.

think about it..if everyone in the community took all that money they spend on lotto tickets every week, invested it together in a sure bet where everyone would win. we'd all be living great. but you see, something is either in us by nature or is taught to us to want to take what others have, to want more than your neighbor cause F the neighbor right?? this damn drama is about me me me not we we we lol its a shitty mentality but thats what it is

humans are jealous, greedy and stubborn.

not everyone feels that way. I dont want to believe its F the neighbor but it seems to be the theme in a lot of places unfortunately

Your "perfect world", where everyone works together in harmony is nothing but a dream. Unfortunately, people ARE greedy...and many are LAZY. It's just the way we come out...NOT EQUAL...but each with our own talents and ambitions.

Would you rather we all get on the same bus and go to the same job? Eat the same food, have the same things? What you suggest is communism, socialism...and they SUCK...for the guy who is smarter than the average guy, who works harder than the average guy. How do you think we GOT all this cool stuff we have? It wasn't from some loser at home collecting welfare. It wasn't from the guy who got a quota or affirmative action. It was from smart, SELF educated, SELF motivated people...

The country, the world has too many losers that we're all supporting. THAT is the problem we have these days...too much dead weight.

It's fuck the neighbor IF it's a neighbor we don't WANT as a neighbor. I'm sure you have neighbors you like...they're probably a LOT like you? Same race, same education level, same morals, same culture...we like to be with people who are similar...when government FORCES people together...problems ensue. Actually, diversity is one of the lies...it forced people who don't have anything in common to live/work together...and it slowly alienates everyone involved. You can see it here when discussions come up...people rally along racial lines, moral lines, even sexual lines. What does a woman bring to a discussion about sports? What does a man bring to a discussion about menstruating? Childbirth?

We do better when we have a CHOICE...not when we're TOLD who to live and associate with. We gravitate first towards biological family...our clan. Next we gravitate towards our own race, and then when we're all divided by race, we further subdivide by sex...the boys hang out together and the girls hang out together. It's what we do...yet government knows better...and integrated us ALL. People aren't meant to be all thrown together...it created division problems...and that's EXACTLY what the government wants. Divide and conquer...divide and CONTROL. Keep us weak by denying affiliation...by calling it "discrimination".

lol joeuser you need to take a step back from that big ol ego you're hidin in there. you're not better than anyone even though its quite obvious you put yourself on a nice little pedestal. just be careful what you wish for cause YOU make your own reality.
