Is the grow substrate constantly wet or moist?i try to create a good/wet dry cycle
Is your water HARD or SOFT? not sure, i usally adjust ph to around 6.5 when feeding/water
What water are you using? Reverse Osmosis (RO)? Tap? Bottled?city water
If using tap water, what is the ppm/EC/TDS of the water right out of the tap?(Only if you have a tds pen)not sure i should measure i have a truncheon
Are you using water from a water softener?
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned or pinched?topped around week 2/3
Have any pest chemicals been used? If so what and when?i am going to use mosquito dunks as i have found gnats.
Are plant's infected with pest's? i really do not think so...besides the occasional gnat i havent seen anything down there

hey dude the ph in your medium is too low.

Collect a water runoff sample to check but I'm pretty sure this is what you are seeing.

you can correct it by watering a couple of times with ph 8.5 water to get the medium's ph up quickly, but you need some long lasting effect too so you need to top dress with some dolomite lime or quick lime. Since your ph is dropping in the medium you should also consider watering with ph 7 water from now on since you tend to drift downward.

I would suggest foliar feeding with epsom salts to get some immediate refief into those babies.

i know i have been needing to get the ph up in my medium....how much dolomite lime should i top dress with? after top dressing do i just water/feed as normal?

so do you think i should continue with cal/mag? how many more times should i use the thrive alive b-1? should i continue to to feed with the other nutes (buddha grow and catalyst?

what type of foliar solution should i use? ph the water to 7 and add some epsom salts? could i use the cal/mag i have already used to foliar feed?

is their a good lime i can get at like a home depot or lowes?

Did you check the ph of the runoff?

if you have ph up make a solution between 8.5 and 9 and water it right through, and again check the ph of the runoff. This will give you an idea of how acidic your soil is and how much you'll need to add to correct it temporarily while the lime works.

I would add 1 flat tablespoon of fine dolomite lime per gallon of soil you have. If you find quicklime you can add less because it works faster. When you water small amounts of the lime will dissolve and be added to the medium. Next grow make sure you add the lime before you transplant.

You can use your cal/mag in a solution for foliar spray. Right now it looks like you could use a mild grow veg fertilizer because the Mg deficiency from the ph has stopped nutrient uptake and you are seeing a multiple deficiency here. I suggest using a complete fertilizer enhanced with your cal mag or Epsom salts, and spray them from the underside of the leaves twice a day. If you do this and correct the pH problem in the soil you should see a difference in a couple of days.

Be Good!

Cannacopia,

You have been a big help. So let me state this and please correct me if im wrong. since I am in 5gal pots i need to roughly top dress with 5 tablespoon per pot and water accordingly...

also, foliar spray with buddha grow (veg fert) and cal/mag. should i DOUSE the leaves or more of a slight misting...obvisouly ph the water that i will be spraying?

i am going to get some dolomite lime tomorrow. besides a grow shop, which we dont have many around here, does lowes and home depot carry something similar?

i just did my first round of foliar feeding with 600ppm of roots organic buddha grow and full strength botincare cal/mag....i will peep in the morning and see if there is much of a difference. thanks guys!

bought pulverized/powdered lime...getting ready to foliar spray and lime them out...will be needing water in the next couple days...hopefully that will correct my problems and the girls will be looking sexy again.

i will say that 24hrs later, after the first foliar spray that girls really responded to it and are looking fantastic...really perked up and leaves are pointing almost up towards the light...might post some pics a little but later

here is the update: looking MUCH better after feeding with cal/mag three days ago. I also transplanted to 5gal pots. today is my second day of foliar feeding with buddha grow and cal/mag...also sprinkled some dolomite lime top dressed....i cannot wait for the pots to dry out and will water with 7.5 or 8ph water to bring the overall soil ph up to prevent nute lock and help with the overalll health. TONS of new growth. i have cleaned up most of the necrotic leaves as well

Wad Up, Paully B? Dude, I saw your name and thought, ha. Then, I saw the strain and thought, DAMN. I know where someone with that tag would be rocking a tent with only that one strain...anyway probably not the same person.

As for your problem, it definitely seemed to be a mag def/lock-out. It looks like everything is getting better which it awesome. I unfortunately had some worse problems that were not correctable. I attributed these to the Happy Frog. It was basically 75-85% ffhf and 25 light warrior. Happy frog is weird with cannabis...just get ocean forest. It is tried and true.

Many people here in the infirmary use ffhf and most of those just repot in something fresh and boom, it's better. Well, good luck and I'll try hollering elsewhere also.

happy frog is a 'hot soil'....even with 20 % perlite. after the transplant you should not feed them anymore, atleast for quite a while ,use plain water with rootjuice.coz now they have compost to feed of.so if you feed extra you get instant saltbuildups and or high nutrition levels

Epiphyte, thanks for the encouragement. I am pretty sure we dont know each other as i have told no one personally what i am doing. i wanted to try happy frog because i wanted to give my ladies nutrients instead of what was already in there.

Core, thanks for letting me know about happy frog. i thought it seemed less "hot" then the ocean forest. my next watering was going to be higher ph'd water...maybe around 8 to correct some of the medium ph issues i have been having...i top dressed with dolomite lime and ready for them to get thirsty

foliar feeding has been un believable...over night they looked better.

using full strength buddha grow and cal/mag...awesome!

FYI, dolomite needs 3- 6 weeks to because active and available....some places carry liquid dolomite but that shouldnt be needed if you have calmag

Keep you Ph in the right zone...no need to take it up to 8....7 max... a few waters at 6.7 and it will be back in range...

Happy frog is more out of wack than hot. Young plants don't have a probably going into it...however, the nutrient levels /absorption rates cause problems once the plants have been in there for a minute...I also say it is "hot" to people but maybe this is a better way of understanding...

Don't "become extinct from doing things that smart people don't do. The trick is to surrender to the flow"

And "out near gamehendge, i lived alone" but i still got my silver haze from someone...

Epiphyte, I just got back from the Detroit, Cuyhoga, Cinci run of phish shows. The boys are on fire right now. I am loving every bit of it. More than likely going to Raleigh, Charlotte next week and then CO in September. I loved the phish quotes.

So I am going to foliar feed some straight cal/mag and then water with 6.7 ph water to see all whats in the happy frog. Over all they look pretty good but just not perfect....pic will be in order shortly

update. i have been foliar spraying with buddha grow and EJ cataylist...gonna mix up a batch with thrive alive b-1 (green bottle) today. they are looking so much better..new growth has taken off....getting ready to give them straight ph'd water here soon...prolly around 6.7

things are looking good....gave them thier first big drink after being in thier 5gal homes for about 6 days. do you think they are so on the water uptake...watering once a week seems absurd?!

anyways, 6.7 ph water and things are looking good

P

Paully_B

run off was around 6.3 or 6.4....

very very little runoff in general...not shooting for 10-20percent runoff...i am shooting for little to no runoff period
