Sea Of Green strains... help?

I've grown shedloads of this and I can only say I'm disappointed with it.

Either I can't grow this shit no way no how ...

or

all the seeds I've popped are the cabbage pheno... ( 30 odd seeds)

never seen anything decent from it and its in the bin and will stay there.

I can believe that maybe I've been really unlucky with it..... looks good but is light, fluffy and full of leaves - hence cabbage and weighs fuckall when dry The high is a general hit that has no clarity and the taste is like cardboard (or maybe I been smoking the wrong end?)

Don't want to be down on this too much you understand and Serious do some class green but I can't say I've seen it in Chronic.

I agree 100%. i tasted chronic from 5-10 different growers, all from SS and all from different packs. And all from after 2000.... It's fluffy, HIGH leave-to-calyx ratio, the high i boring and the taste is equal cardboard.... All organic grown.. But the growers are anti conneseurs, and keeps the wack chronic because they are yielding 1.5g pr. W...
Here in Dk there is an excellent cut to SOG called pusherstreet, but i really dont like the taste and high of that either, hehe..

I know it's not available anymore but I found a SOG monster in a pack of Williams Wonder IX . She's a real beauty, she has taste high and yield( especially yield). I don't grow SOG anymore so I ended up retiring the cut and made some f2s. Though I am going to be looking through a pack of Princess13 for keepers and there is a good chance I'll find a nice SOG lady. Back to the WW, she would produce a perfect 20+ gram nugget with no veg, very little side branching and easy to take care of. But pics are better than words so here's a 20 grammer with zero veg grown in classic 64 plants per 4x4 under 1000 watts oh yeah and 56 days flower

For SOG i recommend
C99, most phenos ideal! I ran it for years in NFT.. Big Stretch in flower producing large main colas..
AK47, Sensi Star, Northern Lights, Blueberry, White Widow, Super Silver Haze, NL5 Haze..
IMO if you pop a few beans of most strains you can find a good SOG plant!!

if youre in the mood for an autoflower SGS has two strains, pink bud and fruit salad, that Mitch Connor did a AF SOG with. His garden looked awesome, and I remember him saying they didn't get bigger than 3 feet.

Might want to check out Lemon Kush, very little side branching. Amazing smell/taste and decent yielder. Puts me on my ass at 65 days.

BOG's blue moon rocks is a great SOG strain... if you don't mind it taking 65-70 days to be fully done

its easy to grow, doesn't need a whole lot of nutes, yields great.. looks good 10/10 from my experiences

I'm sure Gypsy Nirvana Collection - C99 F2 would be the best but with a $150-175 price tag its a little out of my budget, (damaged soldiers don't get payed well)

Currently I only have some Wappa going inside and its not at all what i expected.. 3 weeks since germination and they are the branchiest little things I have ever seen. One is only about 8 inches tall but at-least a foot in diameter, has 3 fan leafs at many nodes and most branches are staggered. Probably be great for SCROG as the lower branches as tall as the rest of the plant (just twice as long because they shoot out to the sides so far) I think I'm going to move it outside and hope that one of my Early Durban or Skunk x Haze pollinate it this fall (might make a slightly faster maturing outdoor hybrid for next year).

It is not so much a question of what strain for SoG, but what strain for 5x5 SoG, 25 ppm2.. your target is approx 20g pp, not 10 like in a 7x7 SoG, 49 ppm2... So you need to grow your plants a bit bigger than you do in a 7x7 and so branching becomes more of an issue.

My best ever SoG plant, was flowered at 4" in a 7x7, I found the secret was to get the clones established and growing strongly as possible, using a dedicated MH light and NFT in the rooting stage. From things I recently learned here I would also experiment with lolipopping 6" clones, leaving the same quantity of leaf material as the 4" to see which does best.

Take photos of your babies when you plant out and at harvest, check them and the clones dry weight on the scales... that way you can quickly learn which way to go chasing yield...

just stay away from pure sativa. if you want indica it will be hard to go wrong with hundreds of things. If you want sativa go with Apollo 11, or c99 they were around 7 years ago and they are still awesome, and will be fine in SOG

I can actually rescale my system to about 7" spacing if that will improve things (its a pretty simple ebb&flow setup and would only require a new cover).

You had best luck rooting directly under a MH? The light wasn't too harsh?
I have always used florescent or indirect lighting but honestly don't know any better from personal experience. (just always thought direct HID lighting was too harsh for rooting)

Also when you say Nutrient film technique you mean a tilted channel or tray that water is constantly circulated through? What do you use? I been thinking about building a new aeroponic cloner using a $10 clear storage box as a dome (beats the crap out of the $50-100 domes they sell for hydro trays)...

By "lolipopping" do you mean removing the lower fan leaves or just the branches?

It's master kush x lemon joy. Not sure where you can get seeds, i was given a mother several years ago.

So I am sorry but that wont work, though I have seen other people's F2s on seedbay from time to time and eventually Ill b sending on some WW x Dieselrella, Though that is a while from now and still might not be the strain your looking for. Oh, sorry.. Didn't mean to put you on the spot or brake any rules (even have huge respect for the personal security bit, only 3 people have ever seen my grow aria I'm one and a family member is another)

I actually missed the Princess13 suggestion, I had been wondering why I haven't seen C99 x White Widow x (something like Afghan, chronic, or OG Kush) I honestly have no experience with G13 and know very little about it (other rumors and legends) with the exception of having heard its name frequently.

Where should I keep an eye out for Princess13?
