Greetings all....A friend of mine is upping sticks and moving from the UK to Canada...

Burlington he is heading to.

What can he expect and what prices will he pay for weed when he gets there?

Say welcome to your friend. I'm assuming thats Burlington Ontario...about 30 mins from me.

Tell him to expect friendly people, hot summers, cold winters, great beer and gasoline right now is $1.30 CAD a liter. I cant comment on the price of herb because I have not bought any for years. When I did though $250 an ounce was not uncommon. I know there was a thread about current prices on this forum...

I know many folks from the UK and they all love it here. Impress upon him the size of Canada. Mention that the whole UK could float in any of the 3 largest great lakes. I had a teacher once whose wife came over about a year after he settled down. One weekend she asked if they could drive to west coast for dinner in the mountains. He had a hard time convincing her that it takes 2 days just to get out of Ontario.

I'm also about 30 min away.

$150-$225per OZ = garbage
$225-$300per OZ = ok
$300-$375per OZ = decent

He should have a job lined up before making the move. Lots of jobs can be found, but temporary agencies run the show in Canada..

I have no idea what strains are on the street as I'm growing my own and working with dispensaries at the moment.

I would grow ur own here lots of PK and other nice clones floatin around not too many commercial growers who know what they are doing tho everything is full of chemical nutes or picked early or usually something wrong with commercial bud out here, however im pretty sure we dont have problems like people sprinkling broken glass on the buds like in the uk and i havent ever bought laced shit in Ontario, west or eastern.

Wow are the prices out east really that high? Here in Alberta we get some killer hurb for $220 a oz MAX. Garbage/Burn out weed can be found for about $180-200 a oz.

25 bucks an 8th for decent stuff.

most commercial is going for around 1600 in B.C right now, which means 100 dollars an OZ.
so even if there is a bit of markup you won't be paying more than 150ish.

If you're a total square and buy your weed from some primmadonna who identifies himself as a "dealer" then you'll probably pay nonsense prices

Give me till October savvy? It don't last long gettin rid of 6 pounds every 2 weeks. Plus this year I've only half the land I had to grow on last year, minor set back had to sell half of my clones...But! Come October after dryin I'll make sure I put pictures up just for you! This Purple LA I just picked up on the other hand for the same price as a pk hook-up is of some supreme quality in terms of commercial smoke out here. A rare find this past month or so has been garbage for sure. It`s funny like that here; prices and quality are never consistent. It motivates every smoker I know to want to grow their own personal smoke.

Brother when I started my outdoor career at the ripe age of 13 nobody grew anything...Now every guy and his fuckin dog is doin it and givin us dedicated guerrillas a bad rep!! If people would actually look after there shit and put time, effort and money into it then Ontario outdoor might not be bunk weed...But for now Ill stick to making my weed as good as possible and lookin after it.

I've had some phenom Ontario outdoor in the past, grown by an acquaintance who only grows for his personal stash. Never had quality commercial outdoor, though.

I have one good hookup source, and he always comes through with great herb, and a good variety. Most of the year it's indoor hydro grown, but some is outdoor in Oct/Nov. He has sourced from the same grower for over 15 years, and he doesn't sell crap to his clientele (his inner circle of buddies). It is flushed properly, and if you want, he'll give you a nice glass jar to further cure it in for a couple of weeks. If he can't get good stuff, he'll ask if you want him to get it elsewhere, no guarantees, and of course, it'll be cheaper.

ITS REALLY ALL ABOUT WHO YOU KNOW, and what kind of relationship you have with them. If you are friends with a personal grower that allways has extra smoke, you could get top grade for $200 or less per oz. OR you could could pay $400+ for the same or lower quality. Burlington is ontario, iv liveed within a few hrs of there my whole life. i can tell you that weed here is more expensive then in alberta but paying more then $220 an oz is rare. Generally a 1/4 oz is $60 1/8 rarely over $40 or lower then $30. I dont have very good connections these days, and have smoked far more good homegrown then average commercial grade in my 12 years of smoking. So my standards are higher then the average smoker my age, I dont buy much and have never had good connections on that front. As a result of that I have only bought bud that was up to par for my personal stash ONCE. The cheapest bud in the country can be found in BC ( Vancouver is the "hemp" capitol of north america ) I know a guy who briefly lived there, he said 160 an oz or less was common.

Personally the most I have payed (w/o being ripped off) was $15g for some above average stuff (when I was 13) and $80 1/4 ! for some more or less average (mid grade) bud like month ago, apparently "purple kush" BS! but thats from my current BS source who allways has "kush" of some kind for some BS price. The guy has never had anything even close to the stuff iv grown and iv never charged more then $70 1/4 for fully finished 2+ month cured bud, which I would pay and think is a pretty good deal.

Anyway, THE LEAST I HAVE PAID FOR BUD(other then all the free bud iv recieved from family) was $100/oz for 12oz of "outdoor" midgrade. BTW in my experience qp's of at least mid grade are generally $650, hp's $1150 and lbs $2150
