HELL 25-30 years ago I was trimming leaf off month old plants to try and get high.
It was the only herb in town at the time.

i dry mine real good and break it all up over a screen to collect the goods.

I don't anymore but between my broke-ass stoner friends...the stalks of my plants are about the only thing that is not smoked!
Years ago I had a big superskunk bonsai mom that would produce about thirty new heads a day in veg. I would collect a bowl or twos worth of these baby leaves and get one good rip a day. It is crazy how there is thc in the new veg growth.

exactly, microwave a few dozen leaves, roll a chop and get a headache kinda buzz...
CRAP I'm old I was drying mine in an oven at 200 degrees till we got a microwave oven in 1980.
I'll smoke sugar shake in a skinny minute.

There was this one time i was rolling up some bud into balls for spotting with hot knives and for some reason i rolled up a ball of pure crystally bud leaf with no actual bud material. The regular bud spots tasted all good but when it came to spot the crystal leaf it was a bit like inhaling burnt hair, not the best!
I've never tried again so i hope you have more luck with your trim.
IMO, dried pistils taste like burnt hair. I rolled a doob of that shit and tossed it after a couple of puffs. Nasty.
back when i was 13 me and my lil sis and lil cuzzin was rollin shake joints for my grandma, I asked her for a little bag of the shake. took it to my older sisters house and smoked joint after joint.... i was high I felt energy going up and down my legs and spine, my whole body felt so stoned, man that was probbly the highest I ever been off trees. I bet the buds off that plant were some kindof trippy sativa or somethin, I was hallucinating in a good way. I think it came from my other cuz in hawaii, but not sure. If i could get some more of that same shake id smoke it again.

You can smoke the trim if you want although why would you want to? There's a reason we trim it off. It makes the smoke harsher and the taste less pleasent. The smart way to use up trim in my opinion is to extract the resin making butter or hash oil or some other extract. Once the resin is extracted the leaf material left behind is of little good to you. If you really want to try to get what you can even out of that I'd say compost whatever is left after the extraction.
Got my first and only Hawaiian in '77. Wanted to find Cheech Marin and show him what bad-ass-weed was all about. Lots of seedy, dusty shake but it didn't matter, stoned to da bone.
Not to mention this was prime (colombian) time. With the exception of colombian thunderfuck, (maybe a b/s name) Hawaiian was the best I'd smoked.
