What's new

sun spot on the main cola

i currently have some easy ryder going right now, 8 plants under 2-400 watt HPS lights. i've been rotating the plants pretty regularly, almost every day. but i missed a day last week and one of the plants got a little burned from the light. it's really the very tip of the main cola, the leaves right there i can tell are burned, and the tip of the cola is a little charred, with the pistils hardening and just looking burned. i moved the light up and am keeping up moving the plants around. i just wanted to know if there was anything i should or could do to help this plant? i wasn't sure if i should do something drastic like cutting off the top, or if i should just leave it? they're autoflowers, and that particular one is on about day 45 or so, so it's well into flowering. any info would really be appreciated. im also going to get a picture up in a little bit.

alright here are some pics, they aren't the greatest but i'm pretty sure they should be good enough. i would really appreciate some knowledge on what, if anything, i should do.

i'd cut that thing off like a leg with gangrene, something about that dark coloration seems like its gonna mold up.

that said, keep moisture off the plants, wipe your bulbs down with a clean cloth and rubbing alcohol during lights off and keep rotating them

Sorry if I missed it, but are the lights air cooled and how far are they from the plants?

You shouldn't have to rotate your plants to keep them from burning.

With that said, cut off the dried/dead part and let it be. I let a six foot ogre grow into a bare 1K HPS on my first grow. Chopped off about five inches of main cola (at about 50 days) and let her go another 20 or so. She did just fine and beefed everything else up.
