Don't you run your lights at night?
I always run at night, a friend of mine grows in a loft with 4 x 600 hps and draws in air from the upstairs area, not air cooled hoods and no temp problems, its all about getting that airflow right imo iv never had to use an AC or air cooled hoods...Peace

im gunna do my next run at night its just easier for me to have them on through the day as kids are at school an im all alone so watering them is easier i draw air passively from the upstairs too
only had probs today i usually max out at 28 maybe i need to upgrade my extraction im using an rvk150 with 300mm rhino filter

Do you have a breathable loft..i mean by this does the air pass through it easily some lofts are made this way and some are sealed so will hold the heat in a lot more.
If you are using the whole loft it would be better to grow inside a concealed space i.e. a tent, it will make the temp control a lot easier..Peace

as in plastic fascias then yes other than that no i have a 5x5 floor area positioned centrally in the loft space which goes right up to the roof apex ive created a sort of mini house using wood and b&q spaceboard im only using passive circulation for intake the xxl magnum sits nicely in the apex giving me 5 foot of grow hieght to the glass on reflector air is blown out the chimney

its like a sauna in there in the daytime i think my best bet would be to automate the watering and run lights on at night job done

topspin 12 should do the trick

I was having serious temp problems, 33-35, in my drobe.

Getting a cooltube is probably the best thing I've done this year so far, temps sit nicely between 25-27 now, and the light is lower to boot.
Suppose it wouldn't work too well in a tent or different shaped space as it does narrow the light coverage right down, but my drobe is long and narrow anyway, so it's perfect!

I'm in a tent and the two beautiful days we've had so far don't seem to affecting me too much. Ive got a cool hood thing with its own 125mm inline fan that sucks air from outside the tent an out again for the light. and seperate to that I gots a rvk125mm for me rhino filter.

no active intake tho that'll have to wait till next grow...

Any way all I wanted to add was that I don't grow in my loft however I kno from fetching stored sh*t from up there that it is f*ckin hot up there when it is warm and f*ckin cold when in winter so I have always thought to stay away from growing in the loft cause I can imagine it is a nightmare to keep control. I'm guessing ventilation is key.

You could paint your roof with reflective white paint but you might stand out like a soar thumb.

I am having temperature issues as well.
Next grow lights will run during night time and the Primair controller will need a higher setting.
Bloody lovely weather ;)

I'm gonna have to switch from day flowering to night flowering. Can't leave cab open with a fan on em cos the freeze cheese is super smelly. Even with it all sealed up there is a faint smell about the house. uh-oh.

38c temps while all sealed up.

I only got a week left of flowering in a few of the phenos and 2 or so in the other phenos.

But the weather is going to get really shitty from tomoro, from around 22c today down to 15c tomorow. I think it's still worth switching to night flowering just incase the weather gets bad (good!!) again.

So I think the best way to do this will be at lights off tonight, leave them off until around 10pm tomorow night. This way there should be as little stress as possible. Hopefully no hermies.

I really don't want to chop now at seven weeks. I have put extra smell proofing measures in place. I put a big curtain over the door and a quilt stuffed up against the bottom of the door. There is some big gaps in the door and plenty of airflow so the curtain should stop it from pulling the air from under and around the door frame.

hitting 35 in my veg tent, a couple of degrees less on the flowering side. reckon the dif is due to using cfl in veg. dont want it getting much hotter. this is my first summer growing so i'm very much still learning. learnt loads already, mostly from this great forum
cheers

you aint seen nothin' yet - it'll get hotter fo sho :D

i also run my cab in the loft and duct the air up from the house - lights at night is better both summer and winter. i do 12 midnight till 12 noon and then i get chance to water in the morning. no AC or vented hoods here and im about 26C max too atm. the loft itself is more like 30-35C

take a tip from those that live in hot countries - pull your blinds/curtains on the side of your house that gets the sun and open windows on the shady side. swap sides if needed when the sun passes over. this can make a massive difference to ambients in the house.

also wet towels draped near your intakes will cool the air as the water evaporates - and raise your humidity to boot.
