will it hurt the plants?..there are some leaves in the container so i guess thats what caused it.

Unlikely it'd do anything bad to the plants. The green is probably from suspended algae, not the leaves in the container. I've used similar water for decades w/o issue.

I wouldn't recommend drinking it however.

thanks geo. i try and clean the barrels about every month or two..my primary concern was whether that was nitrogen from the leaves and if so it might mess up the plants in later stage of flowering...
