Alright I have noticed on a couple different plants random buds have hairs that are like cringed and brown.. almost look burnt a little, but not the bud, just some hairs in a random spot on a bud.. my friend said that might be where it was pollinated, the pistels are dying..

thoughts?

Which buds are showing the described problems, the ones higher up on the plant (closer to the light) or closer to the bottom of the plant?

It's hard to diagnose without a picture, but it could be light burn.

I have both... high and low...
I've been told that this was phosphorus burn...true?
Dont think its light burn because there are buds closer to the light on the same plant.
Any input would be appreciated.

i don't think nutrients would burn the hairs, have you been squeezing your buds much? if you handle your buds to much they can wither a bit were they are touched, if thats your issue just don't handle your buds so much and you wont have any more issues.

although it def could be pollination too, watch the calyxes with the withered hairs, it wont take long for them to start to swell up like a 90 lb pregnant chick on her 9th month...that will be the little seed growing inside it. also of course take a good hard look at your plants for any male flowers, for me if i get male flowers it's usually at the node points where i first saw preflowers before flowering started.

It could be wind burn too, if your plants are too close to a fan. But it sounds like pollination. How early into flowering are you? When plants are pollinated, the pistils turn brown/orangish and kind of shrivel up since they've served their function. Check your other plants for sings of herms, if you find which plant(s) have bananas on them, at least you'll have an idea of what your random crosses will be.

I'm three weeks into flowering....
pollenation is definitely a possibility
i have a strain that has been herming on me at week 3 everytime... this is the 3rd go around....
im done with that bitch...
got it from a buddy who got it from a buddy...who knows wut it really is!

I have a few chem ibls that had every single hair go brown at week 5 or 6, almost at week ten now though, no final swell yet, and only 1 percent amber, they will probably go to day 80 just like everything else in the garden

Maybe due to pollen but can be environment as well.
When my standing fans got stuck in one place just blowing in the same place for too long i´ve noticed that brown pistills appear in that area. Maybe the white pistills dehydrate and become brown but this is just one uneducated guess ;)
But imho high temps, low humidity and excessive air circulation can cause those brown pistills as well as pollen does.

ya im starting to think it is wind burn.. ive added a couple fans in the closet and its really windy in there now :D guess i should turn them back to slow speed..
could be pollination though.. i had a purple wreck male in another room.. we'll see soon enough huh.

thanks for all the responses!
