Stardawg, She is a staple in my garden (and many others round here i'm sure) - Here is the info and a couple pics of some plants at 10 weeks

She is a knockout. Sort of reminds me of Black Domina. Ultra calyx(s) and lime green, spicy smell and puts you to bed. I honestly never smoke this in the daytime b/c i get nothing done. I cant even play Playstation; its to exhausting.

The one difference i notice between this and BD is the the yield is better. BD buds are tight golf balls and this one is a true donkey dick.

How do you like the lucas formula? Very good quality or possibly not worth it?

No problem at all bro.

Well one problem. The AC was making a CONSTANT clicking sound when it was on. It didn't matter the setting, if the fan was on it would 'click...... click....' about every 5 seconds. And loud enough to be #1 anti-stealth and #2 annoying. So at the moment there is no AC. I brought the P.O.S. back to home depot. It was a 16000btu GE. The other thing was that it didnt have 'auto reset' so i could not use it with a timer. That sucked. My buddy had to turn it on and off every day.

For anyone looking at ACs. Get one with auto reset b/c if not, whenever a timer turns the AC off it will factory reset and not kick back on with a timer. So thats, that. Once i install a new AC i will snap some pics. Right now i am probably in the low 80's without it. The lights are on at night and the room is in the shade.

EDIT: The AC was never IN the tent. It was in a window next to the tent. The white poly you see in the pics is just panda film with the white side in and I cut a square for where the AC is. Sorry. I misunderstood. The AC was never in the tent but if you want to do that there is a thread on that somewhere on IC.

Lucas is bomb. Works for me. People told me not to use it, or to do other things especially in soil. Noooooope. If it aint broke dont fix it. I get near 2 # per light and i water once a week. Thanks but i'll take the less effort. If you are just starting out, it would be for sure a good reference point at the least.

No Co2 on this one. My Co2 set up is in use at another spot (also in my sig).

Passive intake, yes. But no hepa filter. And no bugs or mold.

Soil? FFOF. Straight. In the other spot i do more with the soil but 36 5 gallon pots is a lot of mixin, so i just dumped em in.

No problem on the questions bro, i like answering them. Sorry, if i sound like a lazy ass. I truly love my plants but i try to keep a view of the big picture instead of getting distracted with the details.

haha man i love the way you ghetto rigged those walmart fans up...i was real tempted to buy those too but i couldnt figure out how i would bolt them to the wall...you just ziptied them up and hung em haha i might have to try that..i just dropped 40 bucks on a wallmount and those square ones are going for 19.99 shieet!!


interesting how you just dump em in straight FFOF and only water once a week..thats crazy. im also testing the 6-9 in soil because my friend has been getting nice nugs from it...but im watering twice a week minimum maybe 3x standard...but i mix my FFOF with lightwarrior and perlite so i dont know...

Yeah, and those wall mounts have to be zip tipped to the frame of the tent anyway so... I had two of them on my list when i went to the hydro store but of course i overspent so the first thing to go was the 2 $40 fans. c ya..

I feel your pain bro. I added chunky perlite to my other mix (2000w) and only used 3 gallon pots and i have to water every 3 or 4 days max. PITA. My goal for the near future is to get my drip system into the pots. I have it all rigged up i just have to crawl around and stick in all the drippers. That will probably take me 2 weeks ha ha.

I think i am coming up on 4 weeks here. Not 100% sure. I have to check the ole calender. I find that not watching the clock helps with my patience.

Yeah, the Alien thing sucks. There arn't any in this location. They is another 2000w grow in my sig and half of that one is alien. All dudded out. I had my fingers crosses until i saw that post by humble. Now it looks like i will have a pound of bud for the hash pile. Maybe some of it will be salvageable, but not much. Funny, back where i am from that would go for 275 a zip but out here it just doesn't cut it ha ha... so it goes to hash.

Anyway, i let everything i have now go 70 days. Of course if it were GI or Cindy i would take it earlier but all my current stock is Stardawg, Sour D, Chem (D &4) then Platinum, Hero, SkyWalker and Sactown OG's. Some of which are good at 63 days but i find that 70 really makes em pop. Plus, it's easier to harvest them all at once then to make multiple sessions of it and have a drying room going for multiple weeks, know what i mean?

I like what you mean about not paying attention to the date helps time go by faster....This run I paid almost no attention to their date, just kind of go by what they look like and the nugs were done in no time! Building an ez cloner now, wish me luck I need some fucking cuts! Looking good though for 4 weeks, they should really bulk up. Are you gonna give em any kind of boost, and when? Anything you need to know my man.

(btw, this is my first grow in this set up at this new location. I try to be there as much as i can but i cant give these ones 100% attention. I guess what i am trying to say is that i doubt i can hit 1 g/w here. Right now i think that this room looks like at will be around 6 #'s. 8 would be 1 g/w, but we will see. Most importantly i don't have any CO2 at this location so you could say that on my others i cheat to get 1 g/w )

Let me see what i can say abt what works for me.. maybe some of it could be valuable to you.

Starting at the beginning:

Cloning. It doesnt matter what your cloning method is in my opinion as long as 2 things occur. #1 you have a respectable success rate and # 2 you take way more than you need. I typically take twice as many clones as i need, not because i lose many but just so that i can pick the absolute BEST ones of the bunch. I take clones 2 weeks after i flip my flower room to 12/12. That means that i get a solid 2 weeks to make sure that the stubborn strains drop roots and then a full month to veg. First under a 400 CMH for three weeks, then under a 1000 w MH for 3-4 weeks. After harvest i always have a week to dry and clean everything so i use that time to get in as much veg as possible. (I clone under 24/0 to avoid fluctuations in temps and humidity, then 20/4 under the 400 w, then 18/6 under the 1000 to save a little on electric. I don't know, seems to work for me.)

Wait? Are you sure you want to read all this? I have a tendency to be long winded when talking about growing.. I really love everything about it.

Anyway, next.. veg. I am only using FFOF soil here, nothing special. I like to time my repotting so that once the plants are needing water more frequent than every 3 days, they go to the next size up. Right now they are in 2 inch pots, tomorrow they will be in either 6" pots or 1 gallon grow bags (whatever i have kicking around the house). They will stay in the one gallons until just before flower where they will hit 3 gallon circle pots or 5 gallon circle pots depending on the strain. Sour D, can be a tree so i like to put here in 5 gals but the stardawg is a dwarf so i can get away with three gallons. In this case though i had 14 bags of soil sitting around so everything got 5 gallons.

Now onto flowering. Remember this is all just my opinion. I repot them into their final homes, move to the flowering tent and then (i have switchable ballasts) give them 7 - 10 days of standard ($40 bulbs) 1000 w MH, just to get the roots moving into the new medium. BTW during all of veg i use NO NUTES unless rarely there is a bit of N deficiency then i would just use some Liquefied Kelp, my favorite is maxicrop but i also like the neptunes.

OK, 7 - 10 days of that and then i flip the lights to 12/12. Use your judgement on timing though, once you are ALMOST with a perfect canopy (no light hitting the floor) then flip, because they will fill in the space during the stretch. ALSO, when i said flip to 12/12 notice that i did not say to change the bulbs over to HPS. I do the first 14 - 18 days of flower under MH light. I find that that makes for much tighter and resinous buds. Also if you have headroom issues this is the best way to minimize stretch. No topping in early flower, or just before flower either.

Now you are basically on auto pilot. I stake all my plants at week 2 or 3 of flower and since i have them all out one by one i trim off all the lower stuff that won't make it to the canopy to produce dense buds.

Send everything back to the flowering room and continue of for the rest of the 10 full weeks. - I don't (try) not to harvest any plants until after days 70 but i have a usb microscope to be sure when they are ready. Also, mowood - i don't know what pheno of Sour D you have so it may take even longer than 70 days. Mine is very good at 70 days but i would love to see it at 77 really I guess the biggest part is patience.

You know what sucks about patience? ...Its SO boring!

A few quick things. (This is probably my longest post on ICMag ever, damn what has gotten into me?)

I water with R/O
I only use Nutes every other water.
I always PH my final solution to 6.5 in early flower and slowly decrease to 6.0 by the end of flowering
I use Lucas formula (i know, haters gonna hate)
I never use the GH grow (green bottle) if it looks like they are going to be a little short on N during the first 2 - 3 weeks flower i will add a little more micro to my next feeding
I add liquid koolbloom every feeding after week 3
i add powered koolbloom (or something similar twice in flower; the beginning of week 4 and week 6)
I cut out all nutrients at week 8 and only add H&G Bud Xl or any of the similar sugar (carb) products for 2 feeding
The last water is pure PHed RO and i drench them to flush out any remaining salts.
Before harvest i rip a leaf and taste the sap. If it is bitter i may flush again
i always wait for the pots to fully dry out at so that they are not so have when i haul them off.


And L A S T L Y:

My plants are always fully in the dark during harvest. This keeps all the salts in the soil and gives a much better tasting an burning product.

Whoa. I am not the fastest typer. This response took almost an hour ha ha. Take what you want from it but if anything here helps anyone then i did my good deed for the day.

Oh shit Cali bro. U might have posted while i was typing the book above. I think i answered you question on the boosts above, that's just about my whole schedule up there. (i think that i forgot to add that i burn sulfur 2 x in veg as well)

So oddly enough i have 25 EXTRA Platinum OG plants that are abt a foot tall and super healthy in 2" x 2" pots that i have no home for at the moment..

FYI - as i was saying above these are the next batch of plants to go in there. So the flower tent is at 4 weeks, a couple weeks to clone and here they are with a week or 2 of growth. Only the best clones, the rest i toss. I prefer plants (clones) with multiple main stalks

Sometime in the next few days these will be moved to 1 gallon pots or grow bags
