i cant seem to fix this.. the tops are always yellowing during the first 2 weeks of flower..
heres what i run..
dwc bubbler buckets
veg for 2 weeks with AN sensi grow A+B, aqua shield and gh rapid start, under a 600 watt at 800ppms

first week of flower i use, sweet, sensi bloom A+B, calmag, rapid start, at 850ppms, under 1000 watt
im thinking its something to do with ca or mag becuz when i add more calmag it seems to help a little

ph 5.5 - 6.0
day temps between 75-80
night temps get as low as 65
water temps stay between 68-70

i also think i might be under feeding, but unsure
yellowing seems to fade away later on in flower

Sounds like nitrogen deficiency all right, Most strains need a fair amount of nitrogen during the stretch when they are increasing in size so rapidly. I like to continue to use veg nutrients for the first 10 days of flower with a bit of pk booster added...but then I've got no experience with the sensi line of nutes. pics are always best if you've got problems.

While I don't know what's happening to your plants, it is my understanding that a N def starts with the older/lower leaves first...

imma try to add some veg nutes in the res right now to see if that helps .. ive heard of people running the veg nutes a little bit into flower

old leaves yellowing first=primary nutrient deff-n
new leaves first=secondary nutrients or light burn
are they only yellow when the tips are growing out, and eventually turn green or do they stay yellow?

well they definitely get big, when put into flower at 7-10 inches tall (if grown straight up) they get about 3-4 feet tall, and only take 56-60 days to flower...

they really do look alot more yellow under the hps light, then when i took them out of the room to take the pic they didnt look as bad.. :comfort:

i dunno maybe i tripping over nothing, but in veg they dont show this so next time imma run veg nutes into flower and slowly add flower nutes

Those plants look damn good to me.
That slight yellowing is normal when they start flowering, especially if your lights off temps are as low as you said. Like you've noticed, it goes away after the first few weeks into flower.

I use the lightening of the leaf centers as an indicator.
When the clone poking up out of the rockwool has leaves showing lighter green in the center it means roots are taking in nutients. Even green all across the leaves indicate no roots at this time.
Adequate nutes are not an issue, the clorophyll is less dense in the new growth. This is a subtle change and the leaves otherwise appear healthy, yellow with curlies is another story.

I have slowly added nutes to my clones but am deathly afraid of overfeeding and killing. I had such bad luck a couple years in a row I took a year off to reset my priorities.

My new strain was picked for robustness of clones before the first test toke. Lucky it smokes OK, not great, but the clones don't die.

Anyhow, my tapwater starts at 216 ppm almost entirely calcium. I use general hydroponics hardwater formula micro, plus flora and bloom. 2 ml per gallon of each until roots start.

So mofreak, I'm guessing you think the clones need more.

I'm here for what I don't know I don't know, and this fits. Here is what I have them in:

8 oz styro cups with 1/8" (bamboo skewer) hole dead center.
Rockwool growcubes (croutons).
Bagseed, out of five finishers (200 started), this was among the tall (indoor for silly, 7'11") group, all its clones through three generations were fully half again as big and green as other clones tall or short. When asked the strain I answer "Tall Plant". I am assuming all talls will have similar growing conditions for the most part.
Light is T5 6500k grow blue, 4 @ 54 watts and 18" away.
Trays with 4 rows of 7, cover over the trays until rooted.

My leaves always start very light and gradually darken, not reaching deep green (black in red light) until the third week of bud cycle.

If your clones green up faster than this I be very attentive to your methods where they differ from mine. :kitty:

soo a little update after adding veg nutes and it made a world of difference they are as green as they were in veg.. i think that my problem is that the plants tend to stretch more then usual so im going to have run 1/2 veg nutes and 1/2 bloom nutes for the first week then 1/4 veg nutes the second week...
