Rooftop grow in the city....

Visited a friend I havent seen in a number of years today. This guy lives in a large city, and has a decent sized rooftop garden that has veggies, ornamental plants, and ganja. He showed me 6 plants in what looked like 8-10 gallon containers that are 5 feet tall already that were cloned from what he says is diesel.

This guy claims that last year this same setup with 4 plants gave him over 3 lbs of bud. This guy can grow, he was pulling lbs when I was in college with him 15 years ago, so I know he isnt full of BS, but I cant help but thinking wouldn't the ambient lighting from the surrounding buildings really screw with the flowering cycle??

i grow a few very early varieties on my gf's rooftop back porch...I usually get a few ounces...I am in Canada's largest city...on the worlds longest street...haha...

theres a back alley light that shines ever so gently and NEVER fucks with the flowering cycle...only issue is watering....needs like 2-3 watering's per day...in July and Aug..but I usually crop out bu Sept 15..its fun to do as a little side project, definitely would n;t make it my main grow..

well a roof top grow sounds fun, i thought about it with my place, but my neighbors would surely see, unless i was real good at camoflauging them amongst veggies and flowers and whatnot, hmmm...

I grew in my backyard growing up and I remember a street light that would gently light up the area a bit, but wasn't a problem and my family harvested a few pounds a few years.

The way I think about it is that the moon puts off TONS of light... even more so back in the day cause there was less light pollution.... some days are dark and some are bright and plants in nature seem to dig it.

just my 1 cent... oh ya this website is awesome even thought threads get sidetracked by people trying to "tell ya how it is" or arguing with people about intellect levels. people are funny.

Again, tell me how this is not cool.. This is an anonymous message board where people the world over come to talk about marijuana grows.

Furthermore, I am not trying to find out the affects of ambient lighting "for him". I was merely coming on here to find out more information for myself, as i was very much surprised to find that ambient city lighting appears to have negligible impact on the flowering cycle.

I've grown around street lights no problem! Never hermied.... It wasn't right on my batch but light was visable so yeah, Id like to see some pics I love pics! happy grow!
