Well, there is another side (and Im not picking sides here, though I do think the po-po overreacted here) . I think there is an expectation that when you are in a memorial, church or other sacred place that one should act in a respectful manner.

memorials to dead politicians are not 'sacred' places imo. this looks like the first time the park police have ever gotten to use their "authority" to handle them damned terrorists. its all changing though. i think things are finally starting to hit the bottom and people are waking up out of their stupor(just in time) and realizing the world isn't what the idiot box tells them it is.
