Bunz's 1K Coco Grow

It's been a while since I've documented a full grow (probably since the Overgrow days), so I thought I'd try and give it a shot.

Specs:
R_a_s_k_a_l OG kush
1K hortilux
4'x4' table
Canna coco w/ 25-30% perlite
Canna nutes w/ calmag, great white and protek additives

Gonna veg these for another week in the beer cups, transplant to 1 gallon pots, veg for another 2 weeks or so, transplant to 3 gallon smart pots, veg another week. Switch them to flower and SCROG the entire table. Being this is a very lanky pheno, it should fill a screen very well.

Room Pics - forgive these flowering pics. I went on vacation for a few weeks, thought I left everything in good hands, but shit happens!!!!

Very nice setup!
How are you going to water them?drippers?
I run canna nutes with coco too, so it makes me even more interested, keep it up!

I'm hand watering daily at the moment. I think I will continue to hand water until they are well established in the 3 gallon smart pots. Haven't decided which direction I'm going then.

with drippers you can definatly take the advantages of coco, it likes to be moist all the time.Watchout if you recirculate, most ppl i know had problems with clogging this way, drain to waste is quite easier to work with this medium.

Gotta smokin deal on a UFO 90 watt LED light. Guy went out and bought all kinds of equipment, came home and the wife said "No flippin' way!" Didn't feel like dealing with shipping this back, so he let it go for $80. It was still brand new in the package, so I figured WTF, I'll try it. At least I know it'll draw less then the 400mh and I don't have to deal with the heat. Results??? Time will tell.............

Pulled one of the ladies out just for a comparison shot.................5 days after the first pics taken........

Number one! Your light - LOWER IT! you notice how much those ladies are stretching?
looks like it's sealed and aircooled... No reason for it to be that high.
Number Two! SO MUCH WASTED LIGHT! Invest the $15 or so that it'll take to wrap that table in mylar or some form of reflective sheeting, like Panda.

Number Three! Something tells me you're drawing air from outside through your carbon filter...BAD, BAD, BADBADBAD. unless Im wrong and the filter is the intake.

It's okay, you can thank me later.

Number one.............. lights were raised for "maintenance" purposes. Ladies are stretching due to their genetics. This kush cross is the closest I've seen to the actual OG kush, which I grew for a while 10+ years ago.
Number two............I like not having the table wrapped........makes maintenance of the plants much easier.
Number three......you're wrong.....you described why your wrong, so no need me telling you.

:D

Fair enough... I have to ask, though...
How much time a day would you say you spend "maintaining" your ladies? and how much time do they spend under the light? the amount of light being wasted out the side is not a good thing, really...

other than that, you may proceed... lol

Answer me this question....Why aren't all the high end commercial warehouse growers wrapping their tables in panda?

Here's an idea for you...........Get more then one grow under your belt before you come in with your condescending attitude giving advice.

That many clones vegged that long should fill up a 4x4 real nice.

Nice electrical board, clean, DIY?

I'm thinking 1 per sq ft in a SCROG.............building the frame & screen this week.

Ya I built that myself. 30 amp & 15 amp. Not as extravagant as some here, but it fills my needs.

:D

Not condescending - Im the first guy to admit I'm probably wrong on a lot of things

That being said, i think you mistook my joking attitude for a condescending one... fuck i h8 the lack of vocal tone i have on the internet...:)

Anyhow man, alls i know is wasted light is bad... If it was me I'd wrap my tables is all I was saying. I wouldnt have a clue why the commercial growers don't, I would assume it has something to do with multi light setups.:ying::ying::ying:

Like i said could be wrong.

Gotcha.....no harm, no foul!

Wrapping the tables will also limit airflow around them. I'd much rather waste light then have to deal with problems like PM. I like LOTS of airflow in my grows. Hell I have (3) 16" wall mount air kings just for this table. IME I've found lots of airflow means big, strong stems to hold up big buds.

1 per sq ft is a good number to work with. It's basically low density sog and its easy to fill in 12" x 12" of canopy with a short veg and multiple tops.

I just ground up the last of my OG ****** buds this morning. I didn't keep a mom due to unusual bug problems last run but it was good smoke on par with most kushes. I prefer my old school SFV OG cut in both smell and potency.

Looking forward to seeing the scrog trellis.

This is the og kush I'm looking for. I got it from the Valley back in '03. I was the only OG kush around at that time...........before she was biatched out to everything in site. Shit happened and I've been looking for it ever since.

The r-a-s-k-a-l cut is similar but definitely not the same.................

Picked up a Magnum 6" hood yesterday.............makes the Yieldmaster look like a drywall pan :D

Decided on 3 rows of 3, so a total of 9 plants. They'll be vegged for another week under the 1k (waiting on my buddy to bring me back MY mh bulb) and then flipped. Frame & screen will be built this week.

Running both Smart Pots and Aurora's Root Pots..............both are listed as 3 gallon, but the smart pots are significantly larger. On initial watering, the root pots seemed to drain better.

And to get in the room, you need to get past him. If he knows you, you are his best friend. If he doesn't, he's your worst enemy. :D
