Well hello again! Good to see you back on the block.

Everything's pretty good over here, and still rolling with new projects, if a little slowly, due to space problems. I just started my 'Bilberry' cross, which is a strange but beautiful sativa Blueberry f3, crossed with a hybrid male of my own creation - the 'Mystery Strain' X Flo, or 'Overflow' for short.

I have high hopes for these - I've only started six to see what happens, and if they look promising, I might send a few out for testing. They'll probably be quite random, but that's the idea with this one - at least to begin with!

The HOG is still alive too...;)

Here's #3 harvested at last on Saturday at nine weeks exactly. Most trichomes are cloudy, just how I like 'em, and although the buds aren't hard, they're pretty firm. Probably the lowest yielder of the three I'm running, but easily the most fragrant - a complex mix of fruit, floral (bluebells/lavender) and liquorice/aniseed. Resin coverage is excellent. I got two buds of F2 seed, and they all look to be viable after five weeks maturation.

I'll be chopping #4 in a couple of days, and #5 will go into flower shortly.

No, this is the one I grow outdoors usually - I don't think you've ever tried it - never had a clone at the right time, or any bud! This is 'the one' really - as far as I can tell, it's the closest to DJ's specs, and probably a Blueberry-leaning pheno. The only one from the original seed-packet I'm still running.

BTW, that's a Park Drive in there for scale in the second batch of pics - should be about actual-size...;)

now they look like some special plants, deffo your speciality elevatorman.

Yep, I'm still running it, after six years - I've actually got one in flower now, at about six weeks. I've had some close calls with this one, but always managed to keep it, and it finishes fine outdoors here too - it's a real speciality.

I did manage to make some seeds from it last grow, with a JLo male, so they're technically Flo backcrosses, but I won't be happy till I've done a true Flo-Flo pollination, as this is the only one of the four original females I never managed to do. I've got some inline f4 Flos just popping up now, so the best male of those will get used on this eventually. BTW, all those pics above, apart from the very top row, are of the same plant...;)

Well, it's been a while. I can't really say 'I'm back', as I've never really been away, but it's a long time since I posted anything, certainly. Had a bit of a hiatus with new stuff due to all kinds of other distractions, but I'm finally running some female Jlo F2s - still in veg but picking up fast now. Just as I hoped, all four are very different, at least suggesting the phenos are nicely mixed in this generation, which is what I wanted.

Structure-wise, I've got one indica Flo pheno, one Kentish Creme pheno, and two mixed-up new phenos, so it should be interesting. Whilst hardly a representative sample with only four plants ( I culled six for lankiness or subsequent males), at least they conform to the plan. I have a very small cabiinet, so growing hundreds just isn't viable. If one of these proves to be worth keeping for all the reasons I made this cross, I'll get onto making some new males next for the F3s, and hopefully I can stop there.

I'm unlikely to be able to post as often as I used to, but I'll keep the thread updated as they develop.

I put the four JLo F2s into flower on the 28th and took three clones from each last night so hopefully I'll get at least one of each surviving until I can test them all out. They're really shifting now - they all had a terrible time for the first two months of their life, having to be potted in inappropriate soil with low nutrients - too boring to detail, but essentially they were put through the wringer stress-wise, and not deliberately either.

But they've all shown their mettle, and after a couple of applications of HALO, are branching like crazy - I can tell that one pheno is not a natural brancher, but even that one is making the extra effort now. I'm tying them back at the moment and I'll take some photos in a couple of days when they've settled into a manageable shape.

Well here's a few photos at last of the four JLos, at almost five weeks. The one on the left is much more sativa than the other three, resembling the Goldfingers structurally, and it has a familar scent too. The other three are more similar, though one is flowering faster and more vigorously, and has predominately three-bladed leaves, and has more of a raggety-indica-Flo look to it, and a smilar smell too. The other two are very close, and much more what I'm after in every respect, and have a kind of 'smokey peaches' aroma at the moment, although that could change obviously as they get further in.

Sadly the clones I took of all these had a terrible time and most succumbed to rot - I suspect giving them a dark period was not what they needed, but space was tight and I didn't have anywhere I could put them under 24hrs. A few are hanging on, but I've no idea whether they'll make it, but 1 and 3 (last two images) are the ones I want, so I'm spraying them regularly with BioRhizo and praying to the Great Magnet every two hours.

It's not the end of the world if they don't make it, as I can see now I'm getting the phenos I wanted, so I know I can grow some more, but it's just the delay. Granted, I still need a good F2 male so I'll have to grow out more seeds anyway - although I still have F1 pollen in the freezer, so could always do a backcross instead, although I'm not sure if that would help matters or complicate them further!

The four JLos are at 52 days now and looking very tasty - the fastest-flowering is still ahead, and looks like it should be done about 63 days. The others may take a week longer, the sativa-leaning pheno possibly two - I don't want to rush them, although the next plants in are really big and long-overdue, so there is some pressure! I doubt there's much point in taking more photos before harvest, but I'll do them justice when theyr'e done.

Smells range from the familar 'skunky Flo', to the lovely spicy, fruity chocolate that I've had from a few JLo phenos in both gens now, so it seems as though that's the commoneest aroma of the cross.
