As for increasing male ratios.. Isn't the sex of a plant down to the xy or xx chromosomes already in the seed.. So any outside factors like heat stress will only increase hermi traits. Although I could see that making male seeds could be useful for a long term back up of a breeding make like selfing a female clone.
