Well I want to buy a machine to start utilizing my trim. Right now I am pretty undecided as to which way I should go. After my trip to Amsterdam, I just want to be able to conveniently produce hashish, that is soft and aromatic like the finest qualities of found over there.

This isnt a bubble vs dry sift thread, at least not at heart, its which, for the same amount of money, produce the best results. Best results being clean product, which presses nicely and has exceptional smell/taste.

I have some chronic pain issues, so i'm tired of sitting there and shaking my dry sift box or using a small 1 gallon bubble setup. BHO is nice to make but I live in a complex so it would be difficult to do stealthily. Not to mention moving up to a 400w/600w ballast in a 3x3 will vastly increase my yield. What is the best way to produce medical quality hash?

I like that with the bubble, there is consistent results that I dont have to resift to clean. Also, the multiple grades for cooking. Dry sift has been amazing for me since i get 3 grades of aromatic product, but nothing special for the time required.

The machines seem to take two sides with dry sift being convenience of one grade and bubble being consistency.

What is your experience with various machines?

I didn't vote, because I use both a washing machine and a dry sifter for different purposes.

In my boetian hands, dry sifting produces more aeromatic qualities.

i would use dry sift for the first very short run to get max quality

and theni wiuld run it through a bubble machine

Not an expert... I motorized a big dry sift screen. So I get 1 good run. All the rest goes into edibles Good luck

I love both but would choose dry over bubble if I had too.
I find making bubble to be more hassle also.
Sifting can be theraputic, making bubble is good too,if you wanna workout.lol.
Both is ok,and nice combined.

I decided to go with the dry sift tumbler since kief is pretty easy to resift in the end. Dry sift was already seeming to be the best choice, but wanted to see others opinions who used both. I love hash so this has been a long time coming.

Thank you everybody!

You will get more bubble hash than dry sieve I reckon.

Bubble hash tend to be more concentrated, "pure", but in my opinion if you are not a heavy smoker, dry sieve is the way to go: More subtle flavors, more terpens...

On a medical level, it would depend on the medical conditions I guess, but if you found out that some clones/strains works way better for the condition you have, my guess would be that you want to keep the combinations of terpens and aromatics that acts in symbiosis with cannabinoids, meaning go for dry sieve.

Pollinator seems the way to go, it is easy to use and efficient. I only used homemade one though, and I get really good resin out, that melts pretty good and can be turned black by a lil hand work.

Hope it helps

These response are helping very much. I really want to see how resift grades compare to bubble hash I've made in the past. The one thing I had loved about bubble was the consistency and meltability. But as said earlier, the terpenes are altered through bubble. If i could get the same results in dry sift I would be super happy.

Does anybody know the way most hash is made in Amsterdam? I've seen some called Moroccan or what not and they all look like bubble hash.

Since water seems to wash away terps I would think Amsterdam mainly is water hash. Much of their hash smells the same there except for some places with unique stuff.

I figure with dry sift, I can get close bubble's consistency of size by utilizing my sifting screens. I have 3 of them 35,75 and 120 micron. The screen that came with my tumbler is 125lpi or I think close to 160 microns..

A key point here from a mecical standpoint, is that as delightful and medicinal as the turpeens are, some of them are harsher on the lungs and taking them out smooths out the smoke.

The fish trap exists because of the fish, so how badly did you need those anti-malarial qualities?

Another key point is that regardless of what form you inhale sweet Mary's charms, vaporizing the material is more salubrious than burning it.

I find myself adding drysift to bubble sometimes, strain dependant.I find it adds some of the spiceyness lost in the water back into the hash.
Some strains retain flavour better than others, bubble made from bud can be very differant than when its from the trim.
Maybe its just my palate,I was a hash smoker for years before I grew.

Looking forward to seeing some nice pics when your sorted!

By some of the things you said about where you grow and upgrading your lights I am assuming that you only have a small amount of trim to use. If that is the case i don't know if a machine would make economic sense. I recently made some hash from aprox 8 ounces of trim and only got about 7 to 8 grams of hash. This is the method I used;

I already have a set of bags and hanging them doesnt make the process easier for me. I'm trying to avoid having to do as much. I suffer from chronic pain from various conditions and having to sit and do batches of bags/sifting by hand vs. flipping a switch is more than worth the extra cost.

Needless to say I went with the dry sift tumbler, mainly since I can just use the silk screens I have to purify it. I made a mistake before when I noted the tumbler size. Its 110LPI or about 160 microns, which will complement my set perfectly. Is just a dry version of bubble bags with the sizes I already have.

Resifting kief should be relatively easy :)

I just finished making my first batch and this stuff is sexy!!! I'm very happy I bought this unit over the bubble unit. Pressing pure kief is pretty nice. I didnt resift it though because smoking it is a head rush! It its the lightest hash here, featured with some hash I bought in Amsterdam.

The 2nd tumble, produced a little less kief but still pressed easily. I love this machine since it is much easier on my body and saves me time.
