How, where, and When: They will all be grown outdoors in a few select locations away from prying eyes ( I hope). I will transplant all of them outside in Mid May or so, weather permitting. They will be individually enclosed with chicken wire to keep deer and other critters at bay until they reach a larger size and other vegetation becomes more abundant for wildlife to feed on. Holes will be dug 3*3 for all known females and probably 2*2 for the unknown sex plants. The soil in this area is VERY fertile and little work need be done with it. However, I have a few hundred pounds of peat moss I will make use of and as much compost and manure as I need. I may also make use of a slight variation of Swamp Tubes this year.

Strains and Count

Feminized Bubblicious-Nirvana- 4
Feminized Veneno-Eva Seeds- 1
Feminized Frisian Dew-Dutch Passion- 1
Feminized Fast Nevilles Haze-Female Seeds- 4
Feminized Cinderella 99-Female Seeds- 3

Mau Fresas (erdbeer/purpurea ticinensis* Mau Mau (blockhead indy mother*killa queen f6)- Via Irie Vibe Seeds-3
Ak47-Via Irie Vibe Seeds- 4
Kodiak Gold* Pre 98 Aloha White Widow-Blazing Pistileros- 9
NYCD F3's-Blazing Pistileros- 10+
Northern Lights #5-Ghetto Land Genetics- 10
Krakatoa (Fuit Loop Haze* Mau Mau)- Irie Vibe Seeds- # Unsure
Mystery Plants- Various Seedbanks- Some

I will also be putting out anywhere from 10-25 clones of either WW, NL, or Super Skunk. All are apparently acclimated to this particular climate, yet I still have some issues that need clarification before I decide which strain/strains I will run with. Mainly how they really perform outdoors as far as yield and dates are concerned.

Some of these strains are questionable for a climate that turns sour at any given time in the month of October. Although last year was nice until early November, so we'll see. The Fast Nevilles Haze is supposed to flower in 8 weeks and be finished in late September. Krakatoa in Mid October. I had to give it a whirl. I decided to grow a wider variety of strains so that I may make some interesting crosses for next season. In that, I will aim for mainly early production and potency (of course yield as well).

Just a few more photos. These are from a few days back and show various strains listed above in the seedlings phase. They are approximately two weeks old.

So far the Kodiak Gold * AWW is proving to be a very vigorous strain, it's supposed to be a monster of a plant and if early beginnings are an indication, this will ring true. Hats off to Blazing Pistileros and Jeffman at Irie Vibe for the fine strains.

I have a killer area where I will plant. It's very difficult terrain that leads into a fen (more or less a marsh). I was looking for slightly elevated ground since I know that this place doesn't flood, there's simply pockets of surface water that does flow out.

I did find one area on a slight slope leading to the fen that will always be out of any standing water, yet should be relatively moist depending on how high up the slope I decide to plant. I have cleared the majority of the deadfalls and taken a machete to enough of the vegetation to allow me to plant, without reducing my cover too much. I will be going balls to the wall and planting in full sun or nearly full sun for most all of my plants this season. Not trying to harvest a couple oz's per plant in the shade. We're aiming for pound+ with every plant this year. Not really any aerial worries for me around here, I know the risks.

I have also decided to try a variation of "swamp Tubes" this year. I have an excess of chicken wire that I will use to create a circle with, leaving an open bottom. I will bury some of the wire underground and stake it down. I will line the inside of the chicken wire with a landscape fabric type of material, again leaving the bottom open. I will fill it will peat moss and create a very large container. The idea being that with the bottom left open, it will always have a supply of water and I should rarely/if ever have to water my plants. The PH of the water in a fen/marsh is quite unlike the high ph water of a swamp. So I'm not very worried about that, but will be sure to add some lime regardless.

I haven't been trying to get out to the spots all that often, but rest assured, I will post pics soon. I will likely be posting pics quite often when things get swinging. I don't want this to be a thread where I pop back on in five months with some buds shots and call it good. I want this to be informational and educational for newbies and eye candy for the old hands. Comments and suggestions always welcome my friends, let's grow.

The sun has finally decided to show itself. The plants have had some poor weather to contend with and I've noticed some moderate stretching. Nothing to get too worried about. I have supplemental lighting in the greenhouse, but it's just that..... supplemental fluorescents. But if you can believe the weather forecasts (and you can't) the cold temps are at last behind us. And none too soon, since I have noticed the start of roots growing out of the drainage holes and I really don't plan on repotting them unless 100% need be.

Looking like I will be moving most of them out in the next 10-14 days. I also made mention of some clones I will be getting in. I have decided on Super Skunk and those will arrive sometime around Mid May. Not sure when they will go out since I obviously need to wait to see the condition of them at that time. The new plants (NYCD and NL#5) will veg a little longer and go out around June 1st. I'm also in the process of germinating a bunch of Krakatoa which will also probly go out around that time as well. What you currently see above represents 50 plants.

Update

Update

Well, I got some plants in the ground today. Put out twenty in a handful of hours. This includes digging every hole at least 2 by 2, soil conditioning/fertilizing, and precautionary actions.

The Lay Of The Land

The Lay Of The Land

Growing in nearly full sun this year. This area is relatively difficult to get to, yet is a short distance to a road. Plenty of brambles and thickets to navigate. It's has marshland on various sides of it. The beautiful thing is, the soil is PERFECT. A fine crumbly loam. I don't even have to amend it aside from the addition of fertilizer. Since it's on a slope coming from a marsh, the closer I get, the more moist the soil is. Should be good all season and won't flood either.

Well, it's been interesting so far this season. First off, the greenhouse as seen in earlier photos is done for. I was so fed up with constantly making repairs to the thing and heavy winds battering it, that I simply tore it down and threw it away. I did cannibalize the shelving system out of it to put into my new and improved greenhouse. I have yet to build the new one, yet I have everything waiting for me in the garage. I also have to pour a slab for it still.

I've been really busy planting and prepping my grow locations. Animals have caused me a minimal amount of bother. Only in the locations that I failed to put down chicken wire, no surprise there. But a handful of holes have been dug up and plants lost. No biggie, this is maybe six out of forty+ currently outdoors right now. Lesson learned and chicken wire will be used on all further plants.

I have found a spot with so much potential it's perfect. A huge open valley in the middle of thousands of acres of woods. It's in a deserted portion of land owned by the man that's closed to any form of hunting and I just can't see any people being there. Portions of the valley are blanketed in very thick buckthorn and I have made use of it. It still has alot of potential for further development as well. Next year, it will be very heavily planted.

Most all of my plants have been doing very well, with my Kodiak Gold * Aloha White Widow leading the pack. I received some very nice strains recently....... Black Rose and V3 courtesy of Heath Robinson and bestseedbankreview. Unfortunately they didn't come into my possession until recently and I likely can't start them since my climate requires me to have them established well before the grow season to accomplish much of anything. I have started a few autoflowering strains to make up for it.
I reached to the back of the shelf and grabbed some Nirvana Auto Bubblicious courtesy of seedboutique and some Buddha White Dwarf. Although the Auto Bubblicious have been horrible and I'm terribly disappointed. Bad germ rates and the few that have made it all show distinctly different phenos and aren't acting like an autoflowering strain. Is this why they no longer sell it anywhere ?

CherChezLaGhost- Funny you should ask since I was going to photograph this as well but decided not to. I will take pics soon. I have a large frame camping pack that I can fit small boxes in. I can comfortably fit about 10-12 clones in, a small Gerber Gorge folding shovel, various bags of fertilizers and amendments .......... well, basicly an entire planting kit. But yeah, the clones are well protected in the box and I can sit and talk to whoever I happen to meet along the way without fear since someone with a pack similar to mine is a common site in the area. However, if I work at night, I won't hesitate to use a very large box with as many clones in it as need be and simply carry it in the darkness. Rarely will I plant anything larger than what I can fit in a medium sized box. One could make it appear like you are about to drop it off at the post office for the car ride even.

.clunk- Yes, I'm blessed to live in an agriculturally rich farm area with nice loamy black dirt. Little work need be done with it at all. Of course I add touches of this and that as needed.

Why thank you Krull. Gotta keep it organic !

I have been sidelined by the flu, but managed to make it out there and was surprised at the growth my plants have shown. I will update soon, they are mostly all turning into beauties and things have been pretty smooth thus far.
