The best way to germinate

Hi i was just wondering what peoples opinion is on the best way to germinate the seeds. On our first grow we just put some seeds which had been given to us in normal compost and left them i the garden in may to our surprise they grew so we bought a tent and brought them in the house, they turned out to be big budd and we got a good harvest off our 3 plants. On our second grow be bought feminized white widow, we did the same with these seeds only this time we put them under a light in the house as it was to cold outside, out off 10 seeds we only got 4 plants 1 off which was a male so had to be removed, we really need help with the germination as growing only 3 plants from 10 seeds is not cost effective and is very disheartening please HELP :dance013:

Cannabis seeds are not unlike a lot of other seeds imo....

They like warmer temps to germinate well but can they grow is lower temps....

try germinating at about 80 degrees.... sorry you would have to convert the temps....

You can do the same thing maybe easier but in damp paper towels....

plant when the roots are about 1/2 inch.......just put the towels in a warm spot.....

they dont need light.....

There are many proven methods that work out there. For me I simply put a seed into a moist Rapid Rooter using RO water and call it done. I get about 90% success rate using this method. I like to keep it as simple as possible.
Good luck to you!

me personally use wet paper towel method in an old chinese container in airing cupboard unless landrace strain then just goes straight into soil just seems more fitting

There's no "best" way. Everyone has their own favorite method.
Basically, add moisture and let nature take it's course.

Remember the amount of time and conditions the seeds stored in, has alot to do with your germ rates as well.

Good Luck

Instead of paper towels I use cotton make up remover pads, you only have to wet them once and they never dry out before the seeds germ

^^ like that ^^

we sow seeds 2cm deep into pots of fresh soil and coco.. water them in ,, and place at 12-21c for a week in sunlight (indoor or outside under glass depending on season). Then they can always be placed under lamps as they grow :D

i hear you should soak the seed first, but i never really have.

for the way i grow i put em straight in to pre soaked small rockwool starter cubes, then in the tray,+ a kiss of same water again, then in the heated prop. + 18w fl on top, then old crumpled sheet of mylar to 'roof' the light. i remember them saying the hotter the better!. for germing..
heat is a major issue tho, and same for clones too imo.

imoe if a seeds wants to germinate it will. :)

so assuming you want to plant outside?

well get a flat tray and a humidity dome, if you want to do it right, then get some 6 pack cells, then some starter soil/ peat and place in the cells..

heat mat under the tray and after a week from sprouting they should be good to go, maybe 1/2 weeks depending on how big they are..

that's the short answer, there are many variables considering how big you want your plants, how optimal you want the conditions, how lazy you are, how much you want to invest in products.... there is no easy answer, as this hobby is so diverse, and as you can see everyone is saying a different answer...

the answer i see from no one is, if you want to do outdoor, you need to have the seed root in "soil" or peat as germing seeds with water or paper towel isn't gonna work if you need the plants outside is it?

hope I didn't complicate, it's just there are alot of ways to plant a seed, and your info is kinda vague how you want things setup....
