Hello!
So this is my first attempt at a wooden box area for my seeds clones ect.. Its not security safe, and has lots of light coming out, I'm not to concerned with that right now, as my first attempt. I am mostly trying to get the ventilation correct, and the temperatures lower, with first hand experience. I don't have any power tools, so the holes were cut by hand and not perfect. This trunk looks to be hella old, and I probably destroyed an antique, but out with the old and in with the new!I probably should have thought this all out a bit more before I started cutting holes, but this is a learning experience, and It wont be my last DIY cab!
I can get measurements If needed, but my main concern is the metal lining on the outside of this thing. Its got to be why It wont get cooler in there. Other details I can think of now: I will be painting the interior white as soon as I get the temps dialed in on my test runs.
Lights are 4x 26w CFL = 104watts. I have room and would like to use one more totaling 130w, but the box is a bit cooler even with removing one bulb, although Id like to leave it. The fan is one of those tiny things from walmart, I removed the front protective grating and used some left over ducting to try to make it extract more efficiently.
So here are some pics. Any tips would be great, especially about the metal lining; I really suspect thats the cause of the heat, because I have alot of intake holes! Maybe I could strip it all off and refinish the wood with some nice stain. But Thanks for all the future help people.
