What's new

This is why you check and change your bulbs every so often

So today I was tearing down my 600 and setting up a 1k tent, so I just so happened to see my bulb when it was not turned on.

I was shocked to see my bulb totally blackened, even though it appeared to be functioning just fine. I dont have a watt meter or anything but I will go as far to say as the output is probably lower than it should be. Funny thing is this bulb is only 3 months old, Im just putting this out there as an FYI because I know lots of peeps run their bulbs much longer than just 3 months. Might be a smart move to check them much sooner then you might usually.

:yoinks: that dont look too good for 3months old does it mate...thankfully you changed it...just a faulty one I guess!?! (...either that or I'd bear in mind theres always the possibility it was maybe something less obvious like the ballast/wiring/connections?!?) Im gunna check mine out tomorrow now though just to be safe - dunno how long Ive been running that one for now without any checkups...:whistling: anyway cheers for the FYI bro!! good to hear you a lil' bit safer tnight with the new kw setup!!:good: nice!!:D

hey herb!...I remember grow shops sayin to only run a bulb for 3-6 months depending on 'lights on' hours a day, but many people stretch that out a bit/lot & will eventually be suffering diminished yields...I usually try and replace mine every grow or two depending on length of grow and depth of pockets!:D

hehe yeah Ive ordered replacements. thought those flowers gettin' kinda smallish. well right on Cloony thanks for the reply there. peace.
